The history of Asian Americans, according to Erika lee, shows that Asian Americans have significantly contributed to the change of America. These Asians are the first growing people in the United States.  The writer of the book The Making of Asian Americans shows that Asians are deeply rooted in America. This book explains the history of Asian Americans and the role they play in the life history of America. It shows the arrival of the Asians to the country of America to the present day.  Lee explains the new beginnings and the journeys that were taken by the Asians. Now there is a mix-up of births resulting from  Americans and immigrants of  Asians in the nation of America.

There are those sailors that came using the first ship of Tran’s pacific ships back in the 1500s. Some coolies did work along with the African slaves in the Caribbean. More so, there were Chinese, Filipino, Japanese Korea, and those that came from south Asia and were hired to work in the United States. However, they did face racial discrimination. Over the fifteen years that have passed, a new Asian American people have emerged due to the arrival of new immigrants and the emergence of community activism. Asian Americans are today held up in the United States in place of model minorities. This reveals the complications roles played by race, even in modern society. This is how the history of Asian America emerged, and it’s the best way to understand the history of America. The immigration nation act of 1965 has remade the immigrants of the nation remain historic of Asian Americans. It is a new way of understanding what America is, its history, immigrants, and the place it has taken in today’s world.

Back in 1922, a Japanese who migrated to the United States did apply for citizenship with the supreme courts. This man named Ozawa had lived in the United States for almost thirty years. He had fluent English and a very active Christian. He assured the court that his skin was white, but his appeal was denied. Part four of this book shows how the immigrants were humiliated, and they were to keep proving their worth. The migration of Asians to America now spans 23 different groups that total to six percent of the population. Japanese features prominently in history. It is the second-largest group of immigrants. However, the dream of immigrants was interrupted, and all the Japanese laborers were barred from entering the United States. This caused illegal immigration through Mexico, and the border crossers were advised laconically, although sometimes they were killed by the natives.

Immigration policy was established, and immigration from Asia was banned altogether. The Asiatic barred zone was set. The pearl harbor was attacked by the imperial navy of  Japanese, which allowed the government of the US  to round up all persons from japan to the west coast. Many Japanese about 120000 spent the war in the camps where many lost their livelihood and their homes. Some denounced their citizenship remaining as aliens in America while others were deported.

The last part explains the rise of Asian Americans in the myth versus the realities. The Asians are not only the fastest-growing groups in America. More so, they are the happiest, educated, and healthiest people in the United States. In the late twentieth century, Asian Americans were praised differently than in previous decades. Their success was explained by the values that did emphasis the importance of learning. However, they are still being compared to minorities in ratio like the African Americans social scientists have pointed on the flaws of the Asian Americans as the minorities. This community seems to be far from homogeneous.

Some of these Asians Americans are still poor and do struggle to make a living. Many people call them a community of contracts. Now there is the growth of both Latinos and the Asians in the nation of America. Lee advises the Japanese people that dream of better lives in the United States to forget the Nollywood and get to learn about the migration of the people of japan top the United States of America. Asian Americans have faced racism in the nation of America and also received promises. Even with the discussion of the kind of America we want to ion the 21^st century, then there should be a concern about the immigration policy the equality of the races with other people of the world. America is dominated by many immigrants who settled in the United States and started they live in a new way. Many immigrants from all parts of the world have settled down and even made families in  America. Thus it becomes tough to rule them out as if they were not significant. That is the only mother country that they know.
