One of the most habits that the public should develop isavoiding projecting groups data to individual people. This is one of the most significant errorsthat happenin thecurrent world. This will not only help peopleto make objective decisions, but it will ensure thecoexistent of people. It iswrong to extend groups data to individuals since people with the same characteristicsmay bevery different in theirway ofthinking and the way they do things. Furthermore, even peoplefrom the same nationality who havesome trait will behavedifferently if they go to another country. Therefore, if the public gets this concept, it will reduce bias and prejudice and allow people to relate better and view others positively.
A social scientist, Iwill need this concept to understandhuman relations. For example, a psychologist, it would be worming to advice young people to avoid drugs since it one of the leading factors as to why they engage in crime. Even though it is one of the leading factors, each individual will have their reasons why they engage in crime and thus should not project group data to individual people.
One of the best examples of discernment in the bible is in the book acts chapter 5, where Ananias andSapphira sold the land and took the proceeds to thechurch. However, they hid a portion of the proceeds and took the rest to the apostles. However, Peter was able to discern that they were lying and the land was that cheap. He questioned both Sapphira and his wife concerning the price of the land. This means that by looking at the fact presented, it is possible to assess the accuracy in that statement. This means that as a consumer of statistics, I will need to evaluatethem and determine their accuracy by looking at the trend. In most cases, where there seem to be exaggerations, there will be the need to look at the information tice and research to establishes the accuracy of the information. Furthermore, before I share any information, I will need to double-check its accuracy and addressing the conspicuous trends and issues.
