In this presentation, I will focus on the career development program that can be used in the development of the company’s workforces to have a successful career. The current sales team is characterized by an ambition to reaching levels of their career and belief that our organization can help them to achieve their career goals. The nurturing of the employees to achieve their ambition will be of great advantage to our organization. However, this presentation covers a career development program to aide one committed employee who aspires to become sales managers. The training will ensure understanding he understands the roles of sales director, which include; development of tactics and strategies to maximize the sales made by the company and achieving the profit targets. Other roles will include identifying sales opportunities in target markets and establishing a relationship with potential customers.

Developmental interventions needed to gain the skills
Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are critical in helping the employees to develop the technical skills that required for them to be competent enough in their roles. For the sales director role, presentation and reports writing skills are critical to the roles and require the employee to gain some experience through working as an apprentice. The employee will be sent to work as an apprentice in the IT department and finance department to learn on making reports and the presentation skills that are key to the employee’s career.

Conti. Apprenticeships
- The apprenticeship program will take a maximum of 12 months
- At the end of the apprenticeship program, the employee will be able to make a good sales presentation and create a comprehensive plan on how to maximize the company’s total sales that it makes.
- Through this apprenticeship, the employee will be able to effectively write a plan that will be presented to the executive alongside being an excellent communicator.
- The educational qualification for the apprenticeship will be the diploma.

Individual Responsibility for Career Management

Despite the various approaches that could be used by the company to develop the careers of talented employees, each employee must acknowledge personal responsibility for their career growth as they move to the next level. Employees are responsible for identifying the career goal that they want to achieve and start working towards their ambition. Self-directedness is the key to the programs that are used by an organization in supporting the career ambition of the employees (Miś, 2018). The organization focuses on the matching of the career ambition of the employee with organizational goals.

Coaching and mentoring

Establishing of couching and mentorship program is a critical intervention in imparting relevant skills for the employees. The coaching process allows the employee to perform a specific task under the guidance of experienced persons in the field. For one to become a successfully full director, one must work under an experienced sales director and run how different issues are encountered practically (Miś, 2018). The Mentoring program will involve developing a formal relationship between the company’s current Sales director and the aspirating employees. In the process of developing this formal relationship, the employee will work directly under the supervision of the current sales director for six months. Through the mentoring process, the mentee will be able to acquire special skills negotiation skills.

Continuing Education Programs

The level of educational qualification and training greatly impact the skill level of the employees. Going back to classroom context on various educational programs enables the employee to sharpen their skills, considering the dynamic business environment. Most of the competencies that are needed by the employees require theoretical and practical training. In most cases, higher levels of education are associated with high levels of expertise (De Vos et al., 2017). The employee will make part-time learning alongside working for the company. The training program may take up to 2 years. At the end of the program, they will allow the employee to develop his communication skills and social skills.

The work environment is increasingly growing dynamic, and most of the companies greatly focus on increasing its human resources values. In this career development approach, the company negotiates deals with employees that ensure alignment with the employee’s preferences, career goals, and motives. I-deals are personalized from one employee to another. In career development, I-deal will include creating a unique environment for learning and progress with the career. In this case, the organization will be able to align the employee career needs with the organizational structure. Through this, the organization can build long term profitability in achieving the organizational goals (De Vos et al., 2017). The flexibility is key to self-motivation and development. The flexibility will allow the employee to attend the classroom by performing their usual roles in the organization.

- Improvement of employee negotiation skills.
- An effective sales director involves the ability to solve wide ranges that may affect the sales strategy of the company and how the company may adopt, at the end of the mentorship, the employee will be able to see things from a wide point of view.
- Practical training through couching is also important in facing an overall life situation like sales planning.

The career development approach that is used by organizations determines the potential of the organizations in the maximum value of their Human resources and who achieves the utmost levels of career ambition. The plan of career development for the employee will involve continuing learning, mentorship, and coaching, personal assessment, and apprenticeships that will equip the employee with both theoretical and technical skills required by a sales director.
