Girl” And “ The Guest”
The Guest by Camus is an ironic Algerianbook cast by Daru, who sits on the fence in choosing education from the west and apathy to the Eastern natives. Daru is a teacher, but he is overwhelmed by kindness to set the prisoner free during the war in his country. The prison, however, chooses to stay behind closed doors. The Arabs later threaten Daru for handing over one of them to the police. ” The Girl” is a Jamaican play that shows the relationship between a mother and daughter and the principles any parents would like for themselves.

In “ The Girl,” the author writes the story to educate the public on the effects of traditional beliefs to the modern generation. The main character denies her roots even though her mother instills conventional values in her. The mother denies the cast a chance to sing benna in Sunday schools and hitting like a man while playing. The character lacks an opportunity to walk in the sun bareheaded. She gets instructions on how to conduct herself, what and where to eat. Some of the guidelines are essential to the character, though she finds it hard to follow them. She cries for freedom. The author pens the book to inform of freedom for the youth (Kincaid,1991).
“ The Guest “ is written by Camus to put into the picture the irony of a societal situation. The guest in the story is not a guest but a convict. Daru asks the prisoner to escape or turn himself to the authority instead of bringing him in himself. The prisoner chooses to stay, which is quite ironic. Conclusion.
Conclusively, the two books talk about freedom both for the prisoner and the daughter. In one writing, liberty is granted without a struggle, while in “The Girl,” democracy is bought at a cost.
