How Necessary is College Education?

Outline

  1. Abstract

Around the globe, college education continues to face many challenges. These challenges are due to the rapid rise of expectations about what a college degree should offer, a surge in profit institutions, and demands by the society on more capacities and skills. Also, many college dropouts’ rates, bad debts, and inadequate learning gains have led people to think that college education is the wrong choice. To grasp the necessity of college education, this paper explores the societal and financial benefits of completing a college degree. This research paper Is an analysis driven by data on the vital issues involved, including low rates of graduation that are very misleading. Results indicate that out of the 18 to 19 years old learners that attended high school in 2018 and had a GPA of at least 3.0, 78 percent obtained a bachelor’s degree, 3 percent earned an associate’s degree while 2 percent received a certificate.  The rest are still attending college. Employers have argued that most graduates are in jobs that do not require their degree, while others have indicated that graduates, as compared to those with just a certificate, have higher earnings. In a world that keeps changing, the ultimate goal of this paper is to develop renovative strategies and outline success measures that will measure, outline, and evaluate specific goals.

While some argue that the purpose of a college education is the acquisition of new knowledge and preparation of students for the workforce, others say that the aim of a college education should be the development of skills needed for the growth of the society. This research paper argues that college education is necessary for both societal and financial benefits.
