Concepts of Social Psychology
According to the American Psychological Association, psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. Psychology is divided into many fields of study, such as human development, sports, health, clinical, social behavior, and cognitive processes. Social psychology is a branch in psychology that deals with social interactions, including their effects on the individual. Some of the disciplines that are examined in social psychology include self-concept, social cognition, attribution theory, social influence, group processes, discrimination, interpersonal processes, aggression, attitudes, and stereotypes.
According to a study by Winston (2016), this examined the ability of groups to produce a positive result, as opposed to the single performance orientation process. From the research, it was hypothesized that collective efficacy beliefs are highly correlated with the performance for groups that have goals because they guide the attention towards a specific outcome.
In psychology, memory can be enhanced by the use of various ways. An individual’s memory can either be improved by focusing their attention, avoiding cramming, rehearsing, visualizing concepts, reading out loud, altering your study routine, getting enough rest, and structuring and organization of work. The best device that can be used for my memory development, in my own opinion, is visualizing. Researchers have identified that many people attain positive results when visualizing the information they read. Individuals can focus on the pictures, graphs, charts, and other graphics from their learning materials. In case there are no visual aids from the learning materials, people can create their own by drawing diagrams at the margins of books. By doing this, it assists in cementing information in our minds, and it becomes easy when you want to remember (Hadar, Luria & Liberman 2019).
From my previous experiences in exam situations, I have used the device of visualizing in jogging my memory. My main studying habits are that I have to pen all that I study in summary form. In the case of the presence of flow charts and procedures requirements in my study, I always write down the initials of the first essential words in chronological order and come up with a sequence that helps me visualize the entire concept. When it comes to my tests, it becomes easy to jog my memory because of the visual picture I have at the back of my mind.
