Hi, indeed access control systems form a critical aspect on the general security scheme for a corporation. Besides, I concur with you regarding the overall security philosophy that a large fence or security doors may deter, detect or delay possible intruders from accessing a company building or a campus. However, sometimes with all the physical access control systems in place, physical attacks occur in Campuses, companies or IT organization. The good thing I like with your thought is when you give examples of physical attacks like Terrorist attacks and military attack. The common thing when physical attacks occur is that the attacks are against material entities such as people, buildings or computers (Fennelly, 2016). Besides, the attackers might use visible or biological mechanisms to cause an attack. Therefore, all organizations should use effective access systems like biometric cards, alarm systems and surveillance cameras to safeguard their environment against any physical attack.
