DATA-COLLECTION INSTRUMENT FOR THE COOPERATIVE LEARNING METHOD
Literature Review
Cooperative learning plays a crucial role in a student’s academic success. This success can be attributed to the fact that there is a sharing of resources and students encourage each other to put more efforts so that group goals can be met members (Karali & Aydemir, 2018). Therefore, cooperative learning technique is the most used pedagogy over recent years. Other than the cooperative learning environment, there exists another learning environment known as the conventional competitive environment. The research has revealed that the competitive environment is not effective as compared to collaboration. Collaborations create a community that enable students to receive and provide help to other members.
On the contrary to the competitive environment, cooperative learning is non-competitive, therefore creating mutual trust and hustle-free relationship among group members (Karali & Aydemir, 2018). To determine the impact of cooperative learning, research was carried out in some secondary schools in Natore, Bangladesh. There was a need for conducting this research since secondary students failed the mathematics subject terribly members (Karali & Aydemir, 2018). The study revealed that students’ failed as a result of inefficient teaching methods that were used to teach mathematics, such as conventional teaching technique. Following these developments, another research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of cooperative learning method members (Karali & Aydemir, 2018).
