Anya’s Ghost
When Anya met with Dima at the public library, Anya proved to be sympathetic to Dima after he told her that the other boys at the gym had broken his glasses too many times. Anya told Dima that “wow. Uh, sorry, that sucks.” Anya became frustrated with Emily when she later realized that Emily had lied to her about her death. After the research in the library, Anya came to realize that Emily had been cheating about her death. Anya realized that Emily had killed her boyfriend, and then she burned people to death. Anya replied to Emily that she was not interested in the life Emily wanted or her taste in men, and this was a show of frustration. When Anya’s mum tripped over the toys, she became injured, and when Anya realized that her mum was injured, she apologized and requested to take her to hospital. Through such an action, Anya proved to be sympathetic.
Emily frustrated Anya when she told Anya that she was the most selfish person that she had ever met with. Emily told Anya that she loved her family so much that even Anya had lied about her last name. Additionally, Emily told Anya that she was not a saint, and such utterings made Anya frustrated. Emily said that if she had not all along stayed with Anya, Anya would have remained that weird girl who fell on her ass in the gym, and this acknowledgment frustrated Anya. At one point, Emily proved to be sympathetic after Anya had narrated to her what had happened at the party. Emily told Anya that she wanted her to be happy because she knew what it was like to be in love with someone, and then she loses him. Emily added that she knew how it feels to be alone.
