Re-Energizing The Classroom
The coronavirus outbreak is an unprecedented public health crisis that has exposed the worst in colleges and university administrators across the world. The pandemic has got most universities off guard. Many universities and colleges in the US and world at large have closed to respond to the crises leaving many students stranded without options. Students were given very short notice to leave their colleges and universities, and this has left their minds with imminent questions (Zhang, Wu, Zhao, & Zhang, 2020). Higher education institutions have profoundly been affected by the crises as they have been forced to adopt online teaching.
The challenge is that most students lack stable households that sustain remote learning, and others are suffering because of different time zones. Some universities are hoping to do better by responding privately to their students’ concerns and tackling their issues for greater importance. Universities have implemented some activities like contacting exams online and setting an approximate grading system for accessibility and fairness. The institutions are giving their students a say over what could lead to their better future. The student body is being involved and engaged in university decision making an activity that is more communicative and cooperative in the months ahead. The epidemic is believed to be a natural disaster and colleges should be supportive during these trying moments. Universities are repositories of centuries of knowledge about how to manage education. However, relevant activities are being done by higher education to curb current crises. New ways of working and thinking are being introduced to support students and their learning during the quarantine period (Zhang et al,. 2020). Many university leaders are equipped for innovation, and they are being supported in this fight by regulatory bodies who have students’ future in their figure tips. The universities which will come out most reliable will be those who work during the crises and will be valued by students.
The methods used by classmates are the best to use because they can reach most of the students. The reason as to why I support the methods is because universities are doing everything they can to ensure online learning is going on during the current crises. Most students are also appreciative of the efforts being taken by our administrative staff and tutors. Students are aware that our tutors are facing similar challenges in being able to complete support us despite the same worries about their health and financial future.
Students who are doing research areas online can help and advise the rest of the department on methods discovered. Also, faculty should be dealing with sudden changes to online delivery because it takes time to plan an excellent online course. Offering online learning will help the institution connect with students without potential health risks (Zhang et al,. 2020). Online education is the best because it will ensure the continuation of the learning process. After all, if not online learning, students will be forced to defer because of the crises. Institutions have assured that admission staff or lecturers have a good understanding of how to mitigate the university’s position and how to deal with health crises.
