Coronavirus

Coronavirus Pandemic has taken governments across the world with great surprise.  It has revealed the levels of unpreparedness that governments across the globe are in cases of health-related emergencies and Pandemics. In their bid to control the spread of the virus in their territories, the governments are currently implementing measures that will help mitigate the effects of the virus by investing more in the healthcare sector. Even though the Covid-19 Pandemic has interrupted the world economy and job markers across the globe, it has enhanced the markets for other jobs. The current job market involved a high demand for healthcare providers and workers in industries producing face masks.

Current Job Market

Currently, States across America, including Florida State, need more healthcare providers to work and provide healthcare services that are urgently needed to combat the spreading of the Coronavirus (Simmons-Duffin, 2020). More workers in industries producing medical facemasks are required to step up and increase the production rate of medical facemasks in the country. This will help to increase the supply of protective medical facemasks in the country, considering that there is an acute shortage of this critical commodity.

Current Events

To ensure that the country gets a sufficient number of healthcare providers who will play critical roles in combating the spread of Coronavirus, the federal government has called for retired healthcare providers and medical students to step up and help in the fight against Coronavirus (Farber, 2020).  Considering that the elderly are more vulnerable to the Coronavirus, the federal governments treading softly in its move to call retired healthcare providers back to work.  The retired healthcare providers have to do it willingly and preferably should be younger than 60 years of age.

Also, the federal government has waived on some of its harsh immigration policies for healthcare providers, especially in developing countries who wish to move to the United States of America (Simmons-Duffin, 2020). This is meant to encourage qualified healthcare providers in other countries with dreams of living in the United States to take advantage of the waiver and move to the United States. In return, they will add to the number of healthcare providers in the country that are helping in the fight against Covid-19.

The federal government is also encouraging companies producing medical facemasks within the United States of America to stretch their production rates and produce more medical facemasks that will help in addressing the acute shortage of medical facemasks in the country.  They can achieve these by increasing the number of their employees and also increasing the running hours of the machines that are used in manufacturing medical facemasks (Song, 2020). The federal government is also considering reviving companies that used to manufacture medical facemasks that had previously shut down. These efforts are aimed to help the country solve the issue of shortage of protective medical facemasks in the country.

Effect of Coronavirus on the Job Market

With the current social distancing measures and possible full lockdown across the United States of America, the job markets for most occupations seem to have been negatively hit by the Coronavirus. Most industries remain to be closed as the country is struggling to control the rapid spread of the Coronavirus. Even so, the job markets for healthcare providers and employees at companies producing medical facemasks seem to thrive. These two groups of employees are critical in helping the country to control the spread of Covid-19.                                                                                                                                               \
