WORD SUMMARY FOR THE FIVE DAYS ACTIVITIES
Day 1 summary
In the time management log exercise, I did a five-day record of my activities covering Monday to Friday. On Monday, my day started at five-thirty after my alarm went off. However, before getting off the bed, I had a few minutes to make a mental note of my day and its activities. I remembered a notice about my department’s meeting at ten am and also another planned meeting with one of our partners in the afternoon. I prepared breakfast and got ready for work. We then had a family breakfast. I left for work as my husband ensured the kids got ready for school. At work, I did my job well, with no distractions, and went over my presentation in the departmental meeting at ten. The meeting was successful. After the meeting, I received an email response from my supervisor approving my request to leave early on Friday for a school advisory board meeting. Shortly before lunch, I had little disruption, but I was not that affected. I had lunch then a successful meeting with a partner. At home, I had an excellent time preparing dinner while helping my children with their homework. I did a bit of school work after dinner, with a small break, then went to bed.
Day 2 Summary
My day 2 of the exercise also went well. I had a meeting at one of our partners offices in the morning. I’, therefore, went there straight from home and then reported to work after. I was a bit tired from all the movement because the meeting was in a different direction from our offices. I had a bit of catching up to do, but after some time, I caught the flow. Day 3 Summary
Day 3 was just like any other typical day. I got up at five-thirty and followed my regular routine before work. I informed my husband about an upcoming event that a client was planning for the weekend. After breakfast with the family, I left for work as my husband oversaw the children’s preparation for school before he also went to work. At the office, I had some reports to work on and deliver before the end of the day. They were quite straightforward, and I completed them before nine. I had heavy lunch, and it took me a bit of time to adjust back to my work after that. However, I got around it, and my concentration level was okay until about four-thirty. At home, after dinner, I did a lot for my school work. My concentration level was excellent, and I got a lot done before bed.
Day 4 Summary
My fourth day started on an intriguing note. My last-born child sleepwalked in the course of the night and woke everyone up. I only had a few more hours of sleep to catch after that. I got up in time to pray and prepare for the day. Breakfast was okay as we laughed about the minor sleepwalking incident. At work, I had a lot to work on because I would be leaving work early the next day. I was motivated and accomplished a lot before lunch hour. I got a bit distracted around lunchtime by people having early lunch, but it was not a big deal. After lunch, I got right back to work. We got news about the accident involving one of our most loyal partners. This case brought every work to a standstill as we tried to find out what happened. I got home early to prepare dinner. I also did some school work and retired to bed as soon as I felt like I was drifting away.
Day 5 Summary
Day five was a busy one for me. I had a lot to do in the day. I woke up a bit later than every day because my husband prepared breakfast. I got to work and started working immediately. I felt tired at first, but it wore out after a while. I had a tea break and made some calls to a friend that had contacted me the week before about an event she was planning. I made inquiries because she had sought my services on planning the event. I followed up with another call at lunchtime to the person that was to make some deliveries towards the same occasion. After sorting out everything, I went back to work. I also received an email invitation from one of my old friends to her baby shower. I left at three because there was a meeting for the advisory board scheduled for that day. After the meeting, my family decided to have dinner at our favorite local restaurant. I got back home and after resting for a while, did a bit of reading. I did not do much; however, as I was too tired to concentrate. I, therefore, got ready and went to bed.
