An Ideal Work Environment
A work environment has an essential influence on employee morale, job fulfillment, and team drive. Employees should be treated like shareholders in a company or organization because they play a significant role in development and success. The outcome of the employees depends on how they are treated in an organization. An ideal work environment irrespective of the size of an organization should be one that encourages teamwork, enhances productivity using technology, offers employees a chance to challenge themselves professionally, has a positive culture, and promotes equity.
There are various factors that can be considered in perfect work surroundings. According to the Maslow hierarchy of needs, self-esteem, and self- actualization are factors that significantly contribute to the performance of employees (Cherry 1). When organizations concentrate on the two elements, then employees’ motivation and productivity is likely to increase. An organization that offers a perfect work environment should have a strong vision and mission statement. Workers are motivated when they know the short and long term goals and strategies since they have an idea of what is expected of them in an organization. Microsoft Company is termed by many as an organization that has an ideal work environment. Apart from the benefits one gets from working for Microsoft, the company allows employees to challenge themselves professionally.
An ideal work environment should be one that employees feel acknowledged, appreciated, and valued. An organization that is concerned about the health of the workers is the dream of everyone. An ideal work environment should offer genuine promotions, compliments, bonuses, rewards, raises, and job performance evaluations to employees. A perfect workplace should be one that enhances honest and open communication, one that employees are treated equally through allowing each one of them to air their opinions in matters concerning the organization (Dobre 55). Workers want an environment where they can freely air their concerns and issues. An ideal work environment is one that encourages two-way communication and acts on employees’ concerns and issues.
Dressing well to work displays a particular persona, which implies certain excellence and professionalism. An ideal work environment should be one that employees dress in the same way. For instance, if supervisors dress in official attires, then the coworkers should dress the same. This gives an employee a sense of belonging, and working as a team with his colleagues is easier. A perfect work environment should be one that has a sense of humor. Laughing and having fun while working reduces stress among employees. An ideal work environment should be one that embraces change, and integrates new skills, implements new technology and trends.
Every person has their opinion on what they consider an ideal work environment. What is important is that employees working in an environment feel appreciated, valued, and acknowledged. Workers want to be in an environment where they can express their opinions and be listened to. They also want a place where there is equality when it comes to promotions, compliments, bonuses, rewards, raises, and job performance evaluation. Employees love to work in an organization that encourages teamwork, embraces new trends, and technology.
