the banality of heroism, by Zeno Franco and Philip Zimbardo, presents courage as an ideal way of transforming the perception of the citizens into participating in the most significant actions of civic virtue by accepting the possible outcome, either physical adversities orb social sacrifice. Although his theory of heroic effort abounds, there is very minimal empirical research on the theoretical phenomenon of his implication. To further assert his call for heroism, the stories in the banality of heroism summarizes the systematic development of heroism In the society as the beginning of introducing heroism to the community. The book explores the paradoxes that revolve around heroism through the actions of the heroes and the arising impulses promoting and negating heroic efforts. In the general public, there is a contrast between people’s assumptions of heroic status and the individual decision to perform a heroic act. His work vividly describes the common ground between heroism bystander intervention and altruism and the substantial disparities of assuming any of the actions. In his stories, the underlying contradictions that lead to the unattended relationship between the unsubstantiated justification nad living with a heroic status without the courage to portray rick-type traits are annulled. The implication of the stories to the reader extensively provides a primary support to the assertion that storytelling can foster heroism among members of society.  Finally, the are stories expound the negative possibilities if, to a great extent, there is a lack of heroism in the community due to the culturally uninformed lifestyle that heroism ia a prosocial activity that should be encouraged in the community.

The article is about the daily struggles of migrant workers in Canada. It categorically singles out the challenges the migrants experience in terms of race and class. The report points out that the citizens of Canada think that racism is a thing of the past, yet they are the ones who continuously perpetuate the vice through low wages and harsh working conditions. The government itself is rejecting people who are non-English and low-skilled. In a new policy, the government introduced a two-tier payment system that allowed Canadian employers to pay migrants as low as 15% lower than the minimum wage of a Canadian citizen. The level of injustice by the government to migrants continues to increase. Currently, the government has shut its door of immigration yet increased the number of temporary and migrant workers who are paid very low that they end up coming back each year to afford living expenses.  The Canadian government has created an economy where the migrant workers are a fundamental pillar yet, at the same time taking advantage if their susceptibility to exploitation and abuse due to their isolation, low status, and lack of knowledge about their rights.  The author of  EL Cortrate uses the media to sensitize the public and the government of the dishonest and cruel treatment migrant workers are taken through.

There is a similar story of sensitizing rallying up the public to address the underlying issues in the society that many would not have the courage to do. The tale of Rajinder Johar, a senior physical therapist from Uttar Prodesh in India, captures the aspect full of heroism. His life took a certain turn one day after reporting back from work at king George’s medical college in Lucknow. He was ambushed by three armed robbers demanding money right at his home. During the confrontation, he was shot, the shooting resulted in complications which eventually led to paralysis. In his struggles to pick up the pieces of what was left of his life, Johar had to learn to type with only a thumb and two fingers. To help create public awareness for people, he shared his struggles in the voice magazine.  He then went on to build trust for people living with disabilities. The family of the disabled trust group has since been helping the physically challenged to secure employment. He can do all these with the help of her daughter, who joined the trust as an employee.

The story capture all the aspects of heroism in that it is a story of a present hero living through tribulations of the past is has helped past conflict by providing alternative solution and has used the increase of intergroup to show that he got helpers. Additionally, the story is told from a historical context. The story asserts the applications of storytelling as a way of effectively maximizing the banality of heroism since it motivates people challenged with various adversities to come out strong and help others.
