There are even other posts that demonize people based on sexuality, race, and religion. Claire goes further to say that it is vital to ensure that whatever content that we post on the internet does not cause harm to the countries’ democracy or the democracy of some communities.
The points, as mentioned above, are valid. But what is most important is for governments to come up with regulatory measures to check whatever we post on the internet. (Wardle) It is also essential for us to individuals to be keen on what we display because we can cause pain to other people in the name of freedom of expression.
Putting the above points into consideration, being civilized does not mean that we have the right to make other people feel as useless. A good citizen should not only look at their own needs but also that of the other citizens. Posting what will be suitable for all citizen’s consumption will be exercising citizenship while posting things that can make others feel uncomfortable is not practicing citizenship. It is essential to remain n good citizens with or without regulations.
