The number of staff. The recreation department will have a director who will have the responsibility of supervising five recreational therapists that are qualified for the position, three interns, and any other operations in the department of the Therapeutic department. The interns in the department will be appropriately mentored and supervised closely to equip them with skills and quality experience.

Positions

Recreational therapists’ role in providing treatment services for persons with disabilities. Besides, recreational therapists offer recreation activities to these persons using various techniques. The techniques include sports games, music drama, among others. The credentials of a Therapeutic Recreation director involve a bachelor’s degree in the related field and from an accredited university, certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) and have one-year work experience in the area.  

Therapeutic recreational director responsibilities would have similar to that of the recreational therapist. However, the therapeutic recreation director will have added responsibilities that include supervision, administration, and management of a few recreational therapists. The director will supervise the planning and coordination of recreational therapy services. The credentials of a Therapeutic Recreation director are similar to the recreational therapist and differ only in the experience sector where a therapist Recreational Director must have five years’ experience in the field. In the country, the number of clients the requires the service is likely to increase in the future. Thus for the facility has a likelihood of increasing Recreational Therapists in the future.

Interns and volunteers

Supervision of interns will be under recreational therapists. The interns will have the privilege of experiencing the responsibilities of the recreational therapist. The application schedule of interns will be influenced by the time of the year, and interviews will always be scheduled after all candidates’ applications are reviewed. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to serve in the department in either assisting in events or interacting with the clients. To be a volunteer in this department, a person must be at least 18 years of age. Therapeutic Recreation Director or the recreational therapists will have the task of supervising the volunteers.

Facilities

There will be one large room and another lesser room that will be divided into two. The large room will be used for games and other healthy activities.  The other two partitioned rooms will be a room where clients need to have a talk among themselves or even with an expert.

Equipment

There will be various gaming tools that include gaming cards, television, and music system. Gloves and utensils will be needed in the department.

Transportation

The will be one van that will be used for transportation. The van will always be available for the scheduled clients.

Budget

The recreation department receives its budget from the grants donations and agency. The Proposed Budget is about $1.6 Million.
