Introduction

Over the past few years, I have managed projects at CPG corporation in an attempt to achieve stipulated goals within the provided financial and time constraints. Based on my experiences, project management helps achieve the overall objective through successful initiation, planning, and execution.

At my workplace, projects are selected based on brief descriptions, which are later assessed by a select committee relative to their priorities. The selection process is based on benefits representing the positive outcomes associated with the project, such as biodiversity and economic value. Also, I have noted that feasibility is carried out while selecting projects to outline the probability of achieving set goals and objectives. So, the project with the greatest feasibility and high benefits is prioritized over the others. At the workplace, the selection is carried out if there is no enough money or time required to carry out a project

Proper planning and budgeting are crucial in managing available resources to achieve set objectives in project management at the workplace. As such, project management ensures that scarce resources are utilized optimally to increase support towards key business processes. Hence, project management is managed as a temporal initiative to make unique products and services. Hence, all the stakeholders have to understand their roles and responsibilities towards the project to avoid possible conflict of interest. At the workplace, leadership responsibilities are accorded to the person having strong involvement and commitment towards the projects. Hence, the contribution is key to project management in today’s working environment due to increased competition. As such, every member of project management must show the maximum contribution to help the managers like me prioritize resources in an attempt to spur competitive advantage.

Thus, the workplace has taught me the need to grow flexibility, growth, and development while working as a team in project management. The organization’s culture has played an integral role in management focus as a way of promoting unit integration while at work.
