Team Building Strategy Plan

In the modern corporate world, organizations are established with the inclusion of workers from various backgrounds who work together to achieve similar objectives for the organization in the current ultra-competitive labor market. Therefore, the organization’s management is focused on applying specific strategies to help the employees improve on their performances, thus increase the general achievements of the organization. A performer is required to possess particular skills and traits in management that enhance the organization’s turnover rates. As an organization’s head, an individual is supposed to establish the presented role as a leader and purpose for enhancing the team performances by applying specific strategies that are essential (Moore et al., 2016). Therefore, this paper presents the most applicable company- extensive strategy plan on team building by identifying the tips for goals settings, pointing out strategies for effective communication, conflict minimization, and overcoming the resistance to change.

Goal Setting

For instance, for a team to work effectively on attaining the organization’s objectives, they have to apply a specific procedure in establishing both personal and organizational goals in improving their performances. Setting goals for the team in the organization would be used by paying attention to seven different tips. Knowing what the organization and the team plan to attain is the first tip that is necessary for realizing the most effective way to complete the project of improving the organization’s performance (Beuchamp et al., 2017). Before establishing the goals, the management should consider communicating the reason for setting goals and what it plans to attain, thus convincing the team on the positive reasons for their performances towards the set goals. Setting goals at the level of the group is also an essential concept needed to promote the actual achievements of the team with the team’s capacities that make the targets more attainable.

The idea helps the team members become more aligned with similar focus rather than aiming at outperforming one another. Letting the team members establish personal objectives also forms an essential tip in goal setting process, thus identifying their initiatives that would be applicable in supporting the general aim of the team. The team and management should also be in a position to help every individual’s targets. Setting deadlines assists the team in establishing accountability to track their performances and see if they are in a position to attain the objective and evaluate if the goal-setting practice would be meaningful to the team (Beauchamp et al., 2017). Tracking progress on goals is also essential in pointing out measurable and tangible objectives that would be effective in success determination. The final tip in setting the goals for the team is encouraging the concept where the team members learn from their mistakes.

Effective Communication

Compelling performances of a team that works on attaining specific objective for the organization depend significantly on the essentiality of the effective communication practices. Effective communication is known to be an integral concept for the organization’s performance. Effective management of the team of employees applies the effectivity of the 5Cs of communication that includes factors such as consistency, clarity, creativity, connections, and content (Makris et al.,. 2018). When the management and the team leader include the proposed communication qualities when engaging their employees or team members on daily practice, the business has higher chances of improving their performances and the general concepts applied in relating with every member of the team that requires an improved relationship.

Conflicts Minimization

An identified team with the objective of working on a specific project have to relate adequately with minimum conflicts that is essential in improving high chances of attaining the goals before the deadline and also improving the perfect performance for the organization. Therefore, a leader has to perform activities such as providing conflict resolution training to the team since they instill the skills that help the employees to effectively resolve any developing conflicts that occur in their lives these skills are useful in giving the individuals more confidence in having the ability to address both professional and personal misunderstanding that would be discouraged from developing into destructions for the team (Makris et al., 2018).  Conflict can also be managed by providing practical communication skills training to the team that challenges the employees to increase their abilities to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals in the company.

Overcoming Resistance to Change

Also, the team members are in a higher position of resisting changes, thus limiting the possibility of the organization forming a powerful way that would increase the performances of the team. Therefore, as a team leader, it is essential to apply specific tips that would be effective in helping the team members overcome the potential change resistance. Expecting resistance is one of the tips a leader has to embrace to limit or overcome change. Every change proposed would not be welcomed anonymously. Therefore the leader has to accept the condition and implement the most critical way to discourage resistance (Makris et al., 2018). The identification of the route cause for change resistance is also identified. The identification of route causes helps in forming the most effective way to handle the change implementation, such as creating awareness and assuring them the proposed change would be beneficial instead of creating threats to their positions in the team.
