The slaves in the southern plantation they lived in fear that they were introduced in it. Because of the lack of knowledge, they are victims of living life full of lies. They were quickly introduced to ‘artful and designing men (and women). They have believed that when each individual carries a charm with them, they cannot be easily harmed by anything. The ‘artful and designing men and (women) means they are spiritual powers that were everywhere, and the slaves believe in them that they are fully protected.
The black slaves played a significant role in laying the foundation of the economy of the United States though they were not rewarded. They also contributed to the development of the Southern language, music, dancing, folklore, and food through the mixing of their African culture with those of the American. Slaves mostly participated in sugar and cotton plantation, which contributed to the growth of the economy in the northern.
The religious societies of friends began to work against slavery in their organization. The religious Society of Friends offers materials such as a brief statement increase and continuity of the testimonies against slavery and the slave trade. The Religious Society friends also take action of appealing on behalf of the colored race. They sacrificed to speak with their fellow citizens who were practicing slavery and slave trade to show them the sense of mercy and justice to which at long last, they accepted.
CLASSWORK
The Santeria (Cuba) originated from Cuba and was practiced by the decedents of the West Africa slave. Through the combination of their master Pantheon Catholic saints and the Orisha spirit hence, the formation of the procedures of the Santeria religion. The Candomble was started in Brazil by the African slaves who were there. It is the most common religion in Brazil despite being criticized by others, such as Catholic and even by the government. The vodoun originated in Africa. It was started by the slaves who were shipped forcefully to Haiti, and its spirit could be traced in Africa.
The similarity between these religions is they all originate from Africa, and slaves are the initiators of these religions. The difference between them is that they are located in different places, and they had different beliefs and the way of doing their things.
