Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic
“It’s been fifty years since Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic, but England wasn’t able to recover economically. England fell into a recession and then into a depression. The nation that once ruled all the international seas now has one of the highest crime rates. This is because of the massive unemployment caused by economic depression. The place that was affected the most was London. The area where I grew up. I grew up in Newham London, the borough with the highest proportion of people living under the poverty line and the borough with the most exceptional crime rate. There were 2 million documented crimes last year. The police don’t care about us, poor people; they don’t care about anyone; they only care about money. They act as the watchdogs of the rich. You won’t find any of those wretched police officers around here, only around the gates of the wealthy industrialists. There is no order in this country, and there never will be. The vicious cycle continues for us, while the rich bathe in the riches of the virtuous cycle. No country wants to aid us; they have their reasons. Because no one wants to make a difference, I will have to make a difference.
“I was born as the third child of a prostitute. I never knew my father, except that his last name was ‘England.’ What a godforsaken name. My mother named me Gregory England, but I like calling myself Gory England because that’s what England is, or at least will be. After me, my mother had seven more children. Even though they were my siblings, I never really got along with them. People in school would call us the ‘Ten Commandment’ sarcastically.
“I applied for university at the age of 18, but I got rejected, even though I was the smartest of my year. They rejected me because I could not pay the donation fee of ten thousand pounds. This was the point, at which I completely snapped, I committed my first crime at the age of 18. I was able to stay clean for 18 years, but the urge to commit a crime got to me earlier than expected. Together with my older brother, I raided an industrialist’s house that was located not so far away from Newham. We killed his wife and his daughter, together with an uncountable amount of police officers and guards. I never knew that an assault rifle could be so much fun. Afterward, we burnt the house, leaving no traces behind. We split our treasure in half. We told no one anything about this until today. I used the money to pay for the university donation fee and the rest for the university tuition fee, a new house, books, cars, illegal weapons, illegal drugs, etc. Just imagine what you could do if you had a million pounds just lying around.
“In the following years, I committed many crimes. I stole and killed many people and gained a name for myself. People started calling me ‘Gory England,’ as there was bloodshed everywhere I went.
“Do you remember the massacre that happened two years ago, where all of Paddington was burnt down to ashes? I didn’t do it directly; it was one of my men who did it, obviously under my order. Remind me, when I’m released to give the man a pay raise, he followed my instructions exactly how I wanted him to. The fire, more like the sacrificial fire, looked better than what I imagine in my head. All the burning people were running around, and there was no one to save them. How beautiful?
“By the way, officer, is there anything else you need to know from me?” I asked The police officer as we were driving to the Police station.
