Testing the Autonomous Vehicles Approach
Introduction
An autonomous vehicle is a self-driven one or one that acts like a robot. It has incredible features that will amaze you because the car can sense the environment around. It can move by itself with very little or no human help. However, the self-driven vehicle is not safe all the time since systems can fail to collaborate. System failure can cause accidents if the car does not detect stationary objects on the road.
Approach to Autonomous Vehicles
The policymakers must make sure that AVs must be safe to use before being introduced to customers. The AVs should be more reliable than conventional vehicles so that the rate of accidents gets low. Hacking can be fatal, especially if your enemy has access to your autonomous vehicle. Think of it, if drug dealers or any criminal want to attack a government, they can try and access the autonomous cars and cause an unexpected accident.
Therefore, before releasing the AV to the world, engineers should make sure that it is free from hacking. Currently, it is not safe to introduce AV to the customers as it has not been declared safe from hacking. Additionally, human error causes 90% or all accidents hence the need to adapt AV, which can prevent numerous crashes and also solve the issue of traffic delay (Bagloee, 2016).
AV’s view must be via full angled and accurate cameras, enough data to cover the entire process, use reliable and updated GPS to act as a way of keeping safe. Come to think of it, despite the fatal technology risks, AVs can save a great deal. The government can be able to attack terrorists and protect victims of the attack faster. You will also be able to do errands without having to send a driver saving cost. A consistent and thorough evaluation needs to be done before releasing the AVs to the world.
For the AVs to be in perfect use, Big data and connection are virtual component’s that are a must according to (Bagloee, 2016). Context relates to the ability to communicate with pedestrians, stakeholders, contributing agents, the government, and vehicles. Also, big data shows the benefit of keeping comprehensive and unique information, which includes software and hardware.
Conclusion
Autonomous vehicles are a great solution to society. However, it must approve by the engineers, the government, and the society that it is safe for human use. I prefer the AVs as long as they will be able to reduce the high rise of accidents on our roads.
