Marijuana is a well-known drug that is used internationally by many people for different reasons. Marijuana is among the most abused hard drugs and can be found easily in different parts of the world. Despite the drug having some disadvantages, marijuana is well known to have various benefits in the body of humans. The drug has psychological, physical and spiritual benefits. Cannabis is well known to have these benefits through different studies on the drug. The physical benefits of the drug are that; firstly, the drug assists in the better performance of the ANS. With its effect on ANS, it facilitates both two sides of the brain through sympathetic action. The drug heightens perception on the left side of the brain at the same time enhances reception on the right side of the brain. When an individual takes marijuana, it increases the flow of blood, leading to much blood being taken to the brain. The more the supply of clean blood to the brain enhances the thinking of an individual. Another physical effect of marijuana is that its ingestion is known to change one’s worried state due to the alpha waves it produces. Its psychological effect is the natural feelings of expansion and the correspondence to favorable perception. The drug is used in different spiritual purposes, like in meditation. It can assist individuals in uncovering their inner confusion, unlike in other depressants (Bello, 2007).

The government uses tax money in different ways, for instance, by assisting unemployed people, the needy in the society and also in doing other projects like building of infrastructure. Taxes can fund healthcare services, the military service, education programs, among others. If marijuana is legalized, it can assist in many ways through the tax that it may bring to the government. For instance, since it is used in medical purposes, the tax money from the drug can be used to do more research on medicine and in education. With legalizing the drug, the funds can significantly assist in other fields also rather than the medicine and education fields (Ramsey, 2020).

Although studies are still going on the medicinal uses and purposes of marijuana, half of the states in America and the District of Columbia have legalized the drug. Although different people are using the drug for various purposes, the FDA has approved the drug for use in the treatment of three conditions only. Epilepsy, Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome are the diseases that the FDA has allowed marijuana to be used in their treatment and only in severe cases. Research also shows that marijuana can be used in the treatment of other diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, appetite loss, glaucoma, mental health, among others. Doctors say that the drug is very much effective in reducing chronic pain in many of the named diseases, although it is not yet proved if it can heal all of them. Marijuana is also said to be a fantastic muscle relaxant and different people have proved its effectiveness in reducing tremors in Parkinson’s disease. In women it can be used to ease the pains of fibromyalgia, endometriosis among other common diseases in women. The drug can also be used to manage nausea and in the treatment of glaucoma. There several other uses of marijuana in the medical field that assist different ailing individuals (Greenspoon, 2018).
