Frankenstein

Frankenstein discussed a variety of themes in the novel. Characters vividly portray themes. The theme of family as presented Frankenstein and his creature is the central theme in the novel. Family forms the basis of the social setting. If there is no stable relationship with the families, it would be effortless for the family to thrive. Most of the horror and suffering tales are created by the characters when they lose their family relationship.

Frankenstein presents the family with a perfect background. The family ties are controlled with ethical ideologies to sustain the family from collapsing. He found it difficult to have a family that could stand by his side. Even the beast challenged him for lacking family. He depended and related to none because he lived in an isolated life. The monster persuaded Frankenstein to create a companion though he desists the idea.

Frankenstein was the father of the monster, and they had an awful life throughout the novel. Both of them try to ruin the reputation of each other in the novel. More often, Frankenstein recommends the necessity of having a successful family that brings sanity to the family. The love of his parents was indefinite since he enjoyed every stage of life. He was given the freedom to nurture his youthful scene, unlike other children. Once he accomplished school, he majorly focused on his passion, where he could spend a lot of time alone. He needed the freedom to pursue his love with minimum disturbance. The family ties he was brought with started to weaken daily. He isolated his loving parents and his friends so that he can build his destiny as he had planned.

His downfall came later when the project he was focusing on became a nightmare. The project he was developing directly or indirectly consumed the people whom he loved. It was a sign of warning by Mary shell to the readers that family ties should not be destroyed as they mold people to achieve their future dreams. People need to create time for the family and discuss issues affecting them. After Frankenstein was through with his project, he returned to his family. It was too late since his parents had remained with few survival days.

They started to die one after the other from the effect of the monster he created. He fell sick during the ordeal. The theme educates the readers that the negligence of the family has permanent consequences. Failure of Frankenstein to have a good connection with his parents led to a developing project which killed his parents. The creatures were detrimental as they left him alone without none to console him. His parents could have guided him on the effect of creating monsters in society, but he decided to focus his project on his own.

Children should maintain good connections with their parents. Children should consult their parents when they want to develop a particular project for further guidance. If he could have asked his parents, he could have ended up enjoying more life with them as they used before. The monster he created did not receive nourishment and love at the initial stage. The creature complained to Frankenstein for being neglected, and it required a family connection to be happy. Even Frankenstein did not portray love to his creature. The creature tried to seek a company from the people who were not his creator since the monster had a close connection with them. However, the creature was not welcomed in any group since it did not portray the character and appearance of human beings. It was unique, and none could associate with the monster.

The monster shows the isolation he experienced from lacking supportive members as his creator had neglected him. Frankenstein required companion the moment he fell sick since his caring parents were no more to support and assist him during the agonizing moments. Frankenstein and his creature were both sufferings because they had none to share their challenges. Frankenstein physical health deteriorated, and also his creature was internally suffering from neglect, which led to the monster being violent.

Mary Shelly explains the importance of family since her life was full of miseries. Death was the central theme in her family. Her mother died while giving birth to her while her firstborn died a few days after delivery. Her husband and two of her extended family died too because she did not get enough time to attend them.

In conclusion, Mary shelly uses Frankenstein to highlight how family connections are essential for one’s life. A healthy relationship should be maintained in each family to ensure the future prosperity of the family. People should keep family ties intact because one time, they will require one another to offer support during agonizing moments. It’s clear from the Frankenstein character that there is suffering if you act contrary to family social ethics.
