Scope Document

The scope document is an essential component of any project as it enables the systematic execution of the strategies formulated. A scope document acts as a blueprint guiding the project managers in the attainment of the objectives set and solving the challenges that were identified. For my project, this scope document will be essential, as it will enable the swift implementation of strategies to solve underlying challenges. Additionally, the project scope will enable effective managing of the project to ensure the timely attainment of the predetermined objectives of the project (Butler, Klute, Silvestris, Mans, and Contardo 2015). The scope will present detailed information on how the goals of the project will be achieved, indicating a specific period of implementation, enabling punctuality, enhancing the efficiency of the project. Also, this scope document will enlighten stakeholders of the project with the boundaries of the project to allow the accurate execution of the plan. The paper seeks to provide thorough information regarding the boundaries of the project to enable all stakeholders to be familiar with what is expected.

The scope for the project

The project will be with the confinement of several areas specific areas to ensure timely implementation of the project. The scope of the project is the attainment of success in the organization through strategic planning and execution of the organizational goals. Strategic planning will enable the hospital to formulate effective plans that will allow the success of the organization. The strategic planning will involve the formulation of a team that will come up with great ideas that aim at improving the quality of the services the organization offers to enable a higher success rate (ul Musawir, Serra, Zwikael, and Ali, 2017). The strategic planning team will be formulated in a manner that all stakeholders of the organization will have representation, which means that diverse ideas will be discussed, enabling the development of a sound and effective plan (Yuliansyah, Gurd, and Mohamed, 2017). The strategy formulation team will be given six months to research and formulate an effective strategy that will enable the organization to attain success. As a consequence, the organization will have a diversified strategic plan that will allow the success of the organization.

Among the other goals of the project is cost reduction, which the project seeks to achieve. Several strategies may be used to reduce the costs that a health organization incurs to run, which will enable reduction prices that the patients are charged. The first strategy lowering the cost of running the hospital is using a reliable and renewable source of energy such as solar (Guzman, Gitelis Linn, Ujiki, Waskerwitz, Umanskiy, and Muldoon, 2015). The hospital may use solar panels to run heavy machinery that consumes a lot of energy, as it would enable the reduction of electricity bills, enabling charging the patients. Another strategy or reducing the cost of running the hospital is revisiting the staffing plans (Bryson, 2015). Staffing is among the biggest expense for the hospital; hence, visiting them may enable the hospital to hire more qualified staff who are more accurate and fast. Revisiting the staffing plans after every three years may help the Human resource department identify gaps in the staffing policy, enabling rectification. Training the stall also may allow the organization to attain its long-term objectives of having a sound inclusive health system, which would enhance the quality of services offered to patients.

Things that are Out of the Scope of The Project

Some things will not be in the scope of the project because they will slow the attainment of the primary objective down. Among the things that will not be addressed in the scope of the project is the marketing of the hospital. Even though marketing a health organization is an essential component of hospital success, it will not be necessary during this particular project. The primary goal of this project is t solving challenges that are within the organization to enhance the chances of success of the hospital. Thus, by focusing on issues such as cost reduction and training of the employees, the organization will be able to attain its organizational goals. Furthermore, marketing will contradict the organization’s goal of cost reduction as it is expensive (Higuera, 2015). Marketing a health organization may be costly, incurring a lot of resources that could have been channeled to more deserving projects of the hospital.

High-level deliverables

Several high-level deliverables will be attained after the successful implementation of this project. The first high-level deliverable that will be attained is cost reduction. The cost will be significantly reduced through the use of effective and less expensive sources of energy. Further, the cost will be reduced through reviewing the employment policies enabling recruitment of highly competent clinicians and subordinate staff. Cost reduction will improve the value of the clients as they will be charged less than what they would have normally charged, motivating them to regularly use the services of the hospital (Bryson, 2015). Another deliverable that will be attained is high-quality services. Training the employees will enhance their competency levels enabling them to deliver extremely effective interventions facilitating the success of the hospital (ul Musawir et al., 2017). The ultimate deliverable of the project is the success of the hospital. The hospital will be successful because of the formulation of extremely effective strategic plans that will enhance the hospital’s performance.

Completion Criteria

For the successful completion of the project, a strategic planning team will be formulated, and it will involve representatives of all the stakeholders. Ensuring that all stakeholders are well represented prevents the resistance of the plans that will be formulated, enabling successful execution. The strategic planning team will meet once a week for six months to ensure that they have enough time to research and come up with sound strategies of running the organization (Todorović, Marija Lj, Dejan Č. Petrović, Marko M. Mihić, Vladimir Lj Obradović, and Sergey D. Bushuyev, 2015). The other completion criterion is raising funds for purchasing solar panels to facilitate the reduction of the cost incurred in paying the electricity bill. Funds may be raised through the formulation of sound grants and sending them to an organization that supports the use of a renewable source of energy. In addition, funds may be raised through online fundraising, whereby the hospital may request the online community to help it raise funds that will improve the quality of its services.

Success Criteria

Success will be attained if the hospital strictly sticks to the plan and the timelines stipulated. The first way that the hospital will ensure the success of its plan is through sticking to the time frame stipulated. For instance, this strategic team should ensure that it meets once a week for six months without missing even one session. Consistency will enable the strategic team to formulate high-quality plans that will enable the organization to succeed (Zheng, Wan, Chen, and Wang, 2014). For the strategic team to be successful, $ 20000 will be allocated to cater for the research expenses and consultation. Moreover, evaluating the recruitment policies after three years will help the organization reduce its running costs. Committing to review the employment policies may help the organization in spotting the gaps in its policies, facilitating rectification, saving the organization a lot of money. A budget of about $5000 will be allocated to the human resources department to research and consult experts about new and less costly recruitment policies. Finally, the initiative of getting the less costly source of energy should be started on time, the funds raised from well-wishers, enabling the success of the project.
