 Memoirs are an important part of our understanding of the Holocaust. They give us personal and intimate views of how people managed to deal with and survive the horrors around them. Two of the most important memoirs are Night by Elie Weisel and Survival in Auschwitz by Primo Levi. You are to read the above two memoirs and write an 8-10 page paper comparing them and discussing how they enlighten us to various aspects of the Holocaust. Your paper should consist of the following: 1. 1/3 on a summary of the memoirs. 2. 1/3 on a comparison of the memoirs. 3. 1/3 on how these memoirs enlighten us to the wider question of survival in the Holocaust and you should research what other historians think about these memoirs.
