Huawei company

In the recent past, Huawei, a China-based telecommunications giant, has been termed a threat by its technological opponents. Consequently, on the one hand, the United States and Malaysia have issued warnings to other countries to stop using Huawei products. Early last year, the US filed criminal charges following their sentiments based on the allegations that China had stolen American technology as well as evading non-compliance measures against Iran. In a move to counter the threats, the US hinted plans to create a 5G rival that would guarantee faster data speeds and other related infrastructure. Malaysia, on the other hand, initiated investigations into what it termed as cyber espionage by Huawei, to be done by the federal government. In this move, the Malaysian government engaged The National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) to oversee the investigations. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chair Al-Ishsal Ishak said that MCMC and Cyber-Security Malaysia were consultants to that effect. The probe, according to Al-Ishsal, is timeless since it involves other countries like the US. The investigation, in turn, resulted in combative sanctions on Huawei. Malaysia’s 5G roll-out is estimated to be complete and in operation by 2023, as a counter milestone to the threats posed by Huawei. Huawei’s input into 5G development has taken root in the US, Australia, UK, Canada,  Japan, New Zealand, and Germany. New Zealand and Australia have, however, managed to enforce the ban.

One of the biggest threats allegedly posed by Huawei is its plans to install softwares into its chips, which could provide conduits and allow the Chinese to overhear and interrupt data flow.  The other threat is that the Chinese government could use Huawei to spy and pose a potential risk to national security. There are also allegations that the company stole America’s intellectual property as well as technological theft, which are a threat to supply chains. The US also feels that Huawei could be used to outdo its economic and technological competitiveness. Since Huawei is one of the biggest telecommunications components suppliers, the US and its allies feel that it may embed in its chips components that could tap intelligence information hence posing a security challenge. America has also aired sentiments that Huawei could use technology to violate its sanctions on Iran and steal its trade secrets.

Operational requirements are relatively cheap and friendly in medium-sized organizations. The needs range from human resources to the finances and assets. In this case, information on market trends as well as emerging issues majorly plays a vital role in ensuring a thriving organization. These organizations boast a range of advantages. They are flexible to the changes in the environment. The changes in market trends, as well as the physical environmental changes, are easy to respond to since they are not intensive in terms of finances. They have an informal management structure, which makes it easier to react to changes within the organization. The fact that they are small allows them to use the available technology effectively. No much investment in technology may be required for the organizations to be in operation. These organizations cannot also lack one or so weaknesses, one of them being relatively insufficient resources and the inability to acquire and sustain enough relevant resources.

The selection of hardware-based devices calls for consideration of several vital factors. With advancements in technology, wireless networking is one of the significant concerns. Wireless networking basically avoids the hassle of being confined to a single working area within premises. Bluetooth and infrared technology help in achieving this. The other important consideration is power intensity. Most people would want to go for less power-intensive devices, which consequently saves them on implied power costs. Hardware upgrade and warranty duration are other vital considerations for the selection of hardware-based accessories.

Trade-offs are an essential factor to interrogate at any given point in organizational management. For instance, you have equipment dedicated to single tasks. An organization may incur extra costs in acquiring additional equipment. Consider the case of a black-white printer vis a’ vis a multi-color printer. Trade-offs also manifest in cases where an organization gives up on spending finances on acquiring some resources so that it can go for the others it deems most important and urgent. Trade-offs constitute a significant issue because the issue of renouncing one requirement for the other leads to compromised quality of output. It is therefore a factor worthy addressing.

The effect of international firms has positive as well as negative implications. Positively, the small businesses and enterprises look up to the firms for purposes of emulating the higher set standards. The standards provide a realistic target against which the companies work. On the other hand, these firms pose a threat because, as compared to the Small Businesses and Enterprises, there’s advancement in terms of technology and modes of operation, which ensures quality output hence stiff competition for similar products and services from SMEs.

Global trends, as well as political issues, pose implications on the operation of firms. On global trends, international standards, for instance, call for intensive investment, which is, in most cases, not achieved by many financially unstable firms. Politics, on the other hand, control most of the legal requirements that guide the operation of the firms, which are sometimes too hard for some firms to comply. Foreign firms, as well as the government-backed industries, present almost the same ramifications. For both, standards are high and manageable as the firms are relatively financially stable as compared to SMEs.
