Genetic diversity and evolution of SARS-CoV-2

A study showed that COVID’19 had become the worst pandemic of the century, and the wet wholesale market is considered as the cause of spread. The millions of infected cases have been reported, and it is estimated many more are yet to be expressed. The scientific procedures have proved the nucleotide substitution to be the most dominant process in the transmission of the virus.

Moreover, it is said that the virus spreads and infects the wildlife because of certain mutations. It refers to the genetic makeup and its role in the spread of the Coronavirus. The genome of the Coronavirus is being studied, and it has revealed that the genome has a lot of similar features with other viruses like that 5’ end structure and many other similarities. It is amazing to know that, overall, 93 mutations have been seen in the genome of the Coronavirus, and 43 non-structural variations have been seen, so it is difficult to expect that the virus may end soon. It needs careful analysis with further research and a series of experimentation. We all are required to take precautionary measures to save from the infections. We all need to stay at home to save their lives (Phan, 2020).

How did the Coronavirus start?

The whole world is suffering from corona these days, and vast research is going on to know the underlying causes and possible treatment. The origin of the pandemic is said to be Wuhan, China, but no evidence has yet been given to support the scientific theory. A botanist Jemma Geoghegan said that there are a lot of conspiracies and misunderstandings regarding the origin of the Coronavirus, and it is said that the wildlife or wet market of China is responsible for the widespread of this curse. If we analyze the genome of wildlife, the virus is present in bats, and it shares similar features with the other viruses present in other wildlife.

What did the bats get the virus from, and how did it spread to humans?

There is no need to manufacture the virus, and no one has made it intentionally to spoil the millions of lives of people, but the virus is already present in nature. It existed in nature, but the transmission from bats to humans is somewhat surprising because it was scarce in the past, but it has now been seen that interaction with the wildlife seems costly to humans. The wildlife and wet markets are the biggest markets, and humans have a lot of communication with them like mixing pots, and lack of sanitary measures as most of the birds defecate, urinate and other related stuff. These types of interactions are threats to human life as many times; the animals are stressed out and sweat or transfer their secretions to humans (Mitchell, 2020).

Moreover, the Chinese are fond of eating and consuming the species of the wet market due to which this pandemic became so severe. It has not become clear, yet what is the actual source of transmission of the virus to humans. The experimentation is going on. The researchers are trying to jump at a particular conclusion. The most important thing at the moment is to look for the treatment and precautionary measures, rather than knowing the causes. The researchers are still doing their work and are busy in different series of experimentation.

What did the researchers do?

The world of research is very vast, and it requires the experience and attention of researchers to complete the innovative data and to give final statements on something new. The researchers start their learning process from the observations. They observe the surroundings and analyze the scientific problem. After the observations, the scientific method starting from the hypothesis leading to theory and law.

What did the researchers learn?

They also learn a lot of things during the process of experimentation and reasoning. They have learned a lot through wildlife, bats, and genome of Coronavirus. They have learned that the virus may spread from any wildlife, or it may be due to some sort of mutation in the genome.

Did the popular press make proper conclusions or they misleading the public?

Moving on, the press has an essential role in our lives as it is the age of telecommunication, and the people are connected through media. It is the foremost duty of media to provide us with accurate and positive news, but sometimes, this role of media seems to be violated. The media usually spread the news without justification and authentic sources and become the reason for depression in the lives of people. The media should be careful regarding its role in every day lives of people.
