Question one: Explanation of the research question
Secondary language does not have any impact on the development of children. The word has little effect on helping students have a better understanding of the world. Secondary language does not help primary students to have better cognitive development. Similarly, the second language does not correlate with the development of social skills among children. This research is going to explore the impact of the second language on the development of children in various sectors. The study will cover the academic industry, social skills, and growth among children. The research will integrate the use of subsequent articles to answer the research questions. Various aspects of society have come out with diverse speculations regarding secondary language and social development among children and other aspects of culture. Question 2: Approaches of sources on research in secondary research
Acar, 2019 applies the direct observation method in coming up with the article of delayed language disorders in children. Before writing the essay, the writer integrates a group of ten children and directly records data through observations. The writer of this article, therefore, comes up with the piece of writing through the use of primary data. The author deduces views and conclusions from the observations from the ten children. The method of direct observation is ideal since the information may not be compromised like that of using secondary research methods. Therefore, the research methods are relatively stable since the data is evident through the direct random sampling that does not offer room for the provision of false information. The strength of this data further depends on the diversification of research subjects in various environments of learning. The researcher applied two groups of students from the urban and rural set-up to come up with the research that secondary education is crucial in the development of a child (Acar, 2019). The conclusions of the research method imply that students with delayed second language don’t come out with any disorder. The direct observation method is more reliable since the author observes the subjects directly.
The article of the motivation of students in the learning of English involves the use of questionnaires. The article involves the researchers posing questionnaires to twenty teachers on the motivation and entry behavior of the learners in learning their second language. The application of this method came up with findings that students who learn English as the secondary is more aggressive and determined to understand vocabulary. The research further asserted that the ability to have an insight into the first language is crucial in the acquisition of various English vocabularies (Chandio, Ahmed, & Hashi, 2019). The authors of this article thus believe in the use of questionnaires as the primary method of data collection since the respondents are diversified, and thus the information given may not be compromised. Before writing their article, they were collecting statistical data regarding the number of students who show motivation in learning English as their second language. The information was ideal for making conclusions regarding their findings. This research method is ideal but not as strong as direct observation. Respondents may compromise the questionnaire methods of collecting data. Depending on the relationship between the teacher and the student, information may have exaggerations. Therefore, the methodology is a relatively robust method of data collection but not as strong as direct observation.
Q3: How I will collect data
The collection of data regarding secondary language will take place in schools. The school environment will be an ideal data collection site since I will have a large number of collections of students. I will, therefore, diversify my data collection to urban and local places to enhance the accuracy of my research. In this research, I will have a minimum of twenty respondents of students in urban places and twenty from rural places. I will further employ the use of a questionnaire on teachers to authenticity the findings from my research method. The application of the school environment will be vital for my research project to help me cover leaners from several social and economic backgrounds. Contrary, the application of other environments, such as homes, may mislead the findings of my research project. Generally, the sample in my research will be a school environment.
Instructions
On the method of data collection, I will employ the use of direct observation methods on learners and questionnaires on their teachers. I will directly observe my learners with an idea of finding firsthand information regarding their abilities and potentials in the second language. I will go ahead to go through their marks in seeking to find out the relationship between second language and academic performance. The other instruction I will employ during data collections is their teachers. I will develop a questionnaire that will see their teachers complete on the relationship between academic performance. I will correlate the relationship of the data from direct observations and questionnaires to their instructors.
Type of data collected
I will collect statistical data quantitative data through the questionnaires. Consequently, the direct observation method will help me have qualitative data. the integration of the two types of data will help me to easily determine the correlation between second language and social and academic behavior. In this research, the quantitative data will be ideal for helping me come out with conclusions regarding my survey by using the statistics on the number of respondents and those who argue for and against. The application of the two types of data is important since the understanding of relationships requires both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Generally, for research seeking to find relationships, I will employ the use of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Analysis of data
The analysis part will involve first comparing the relationship between qualitative and quantitative information. I will employ the use of graphs to deduce the relationship between the data from the direct observation method and that from questionnaires that are evident from the teacher. The correlation between the two sets of data will dictate the accuracy of conclusions in the research method (Henning, Dreiskämper, & Strauss, 2019). The application of graphs will be an easy way to make the audience understand the presentation of data quickly. The analysis of data will also involve seeking to compute the mathematical relations between the responses from teachers. The conclusions of the research will significantly depend on the information evident from the raw data given by the instructors. Thus, I will assess the quantitative respondents on the data and how it relates to students’ socialization and performance in academics.
Limitations of the research
The research method is tedious since it involves making travels to rural areas and back to urban. This traveling makes the research tedious are tiresome to carry out (Makin, C., Hill, & Pellicano, 2017). The traveling is also time-consuming since I am the only researcher to take a direct observation of the students. The time consuming is also evident in the number of days to spend observing students since they cannot be observed on a single day. Thus, the research may be costly, time-consuming, and tiresome to execute.
