EWP Design for Solar Power Bank
The concept of EWB challenges people to step out of their old fashioned way of doing things and embrace change by developing new alternative ways of doing things. Considering the technological advancement, through EWB, it is possible to solve the problems of different communities. By people stepping out of their cultural practices, they can develop design solutions that would be viable in different societies. By using the knowledge gained from engineering, it becomes easy not just to create designs, but creating designs that would provide solutions to the ever-increasing challenges facing humanity. It is time to use the knowledge gained from engineering for social good. One of the many challenges people face is the lighting system and power in general. While there has been an improvement in this area, scientists have not been able to ease the problem of people by developing a more convenient power system. In this design, propose developing a portable solar power system that users can carry along with them anywhere – power bank with built-in solar.
The design mainly targets long-distance drivers and other travelers who are often faced with power problem while charging their phones. The power bank will have built-in solar. It can be charged with both electricity and solar. When the travelers are faced with electrical problems or when they have exhausted the power from their power bank but need to recharge them, they will put the power bank in an area accessible to sunlight, such as on top of their vans where they will get recharged. This way, they have nothing to worry about when faced with electricity problems (Awad & Yassin, 2017). The design is efficient as the solar power bank is designed in a way that it absorbs heat quickly and can sense heat even during cloudy days.
