The majority of people like entertainment, which has attracted many artists in the industry. However, to persevere and remain relevant in the art/entertainment field is not a walk in the park, it requires creativity and passion, bearing in mind that the industry has much criticism. Considering the work of John Cage titled ‘4’33″‘ and Marina Abramovic’s The Artist is Present” (2010), an individual can draw some standard features or similarities.
Both artists (John and Marina), observed a moment of silence as part of their participation as they focused on the next move, which was to allow the audience to meditate the content deeply. Additionally, they considered the original caption in their composition, which drove the audience to a more profound realization of the isness of life. For example, in John songs ‘4’33″‘, it incorporated actual/natural sounds during the silent moments, such as breeze sound in the trees. Similarly, Marina used her naked body to communicate her composition. Whereas many artists use technology to fake such ideas. On the other hand, they faced many critics regarding their performance, which, however, did not stop them from exercising their talents and even winning more audience. For example, several people could return again and again to experience sitting across Marine, staring at each other without altering a word. Perhaps, to-date, the composition of the two artists has a moving experience that if one gets engaged would feel like the world is opening up. Importantly, they both believed in stretching their performance beyond the usual expectation and model the perception of people, which lead many people to love their work.
