my perception of proposal success As a consultant
Class and Professor,
As a consultant, my perception of proposal success will be based on what I will have concluded with the client, some of the factors may include; whether the project is of high quality, the money used was well spent, that you executed a excellent job as a consultant and that you may be hired again if you are an external consultant. Early in the project, I will discuss with the client on how to determine the success of the project. I will consider the following as success in my strategic consulting project.
Maintaining a high-quality, working relationship. The quality of my relationship with the client will often be directly associated with what the client perceives to be the quality of the project. In a highly collaborative approach to consulting, I want my relationship with the client to be as open, honest and trusting as possible. The nature of the relationship supports the client’s strong, ongoing commitment and participation in the project itself, which, in turn, helps to ensure that the project effectively addresses problems in their organization.
The client learns to address similar problems by themselves in the future. This outcome should be one of the major goals for any consultant. I will scope a project to the time required to assess whether a client really can solve the same type of problem in the future.
Achievement of the desired outcomes and results listed in the proposal agreement. In this scenario, the results are described in terms such that both the client and consultant could readily discern if the results were achieved or not. I would use this outcome to measure as to whether the project was successful or not.
The client’s problem is solved. The original specified project results will be aimed at solving the most important client’s problem. As I work with my client to examine and address their overall problem, it will be crucial to change the project plans to align to the client’s needs. We will discuss the expected results and how to determine whether they are achieved or not.
When the project is finished on time and within the set budget. If the project did not require more time and money as expected will be considered successful. This will be true especially if the client believes that the project was done as best as it could be done.
