The link between source three and sources 1 and 2 is the subject of sustainable fashion. While source 1 intends to describe what a sustainable fashion is, source 2 assesses the lifecycle of clothing libraries and the reduction of fast fashion’s environmental impact. In connection, source 3 examines the companies that operate interdependently in the fight against poverty through the sector. The three articles generate a model that discusses multifaceted environmental, economic, and social problems and offers actionable alternatives to the transactions that customers will make to mitigate adverse outcomes of the sector.
As already mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the three articles share something considerable in common. Altogether, they view the fast fashion as the fashion industry’s most recent business model trend. One the one hand, Henninger, Alevizou, and Oates (2016) establish that these companies intend to deliver low-quality, low-cost, trend-based apparel to customers at record speeds. On the other hand, Zamani, Sandin, and Peters (2017) affirm that in doing so, these organizations use exploitative and unethical cost-cutting approaches to lower the costs of production and attain profit maximization. To reinforce this point, Dato-on and Walker (2018) examine in their study the business model of fast fashion and its practices, which are deemed unethical, in the far-reaching framework and environment of the international fashion industry. Henninger, Alevizou, and Oates (2016); Zamani, Sandin, and Peters (2017), and Dato-on and Walker (2018) have all used economic theories and models to clarify the speed and extent to which the fashion industry has advanced from a competitive frontier to a leader in international profit-making. Moreover, the three articles have explored the different ways in which these companies dominate the market and make empires on the grounds of disreputable and dishonest practices.
These articles indeed helped me to understand and support my reviews on the topic of sustainable fashion. They informed my knowledge of the subject, and this enabled me to write this paper. In general, the articles summarized the current state of the fashion industry and environmentally related issues. The literature and analyses provided by Henninger, Alevizou, and Oates (2016); Zamani, Sandin, and Peters (2017), and Dato-on and Walker (2018) would help any reader to discuss the findings presented in the three articles. All said and done, I conclude from what I have generated from the three pieces of writing that the fashion business is in a period of transition. Thanks to technological changes, customer buying patterns, and globalization, the structure of the industry has changed during the last 20 years. This has culminated in the fast fashion market segment. In developing economies, fast fashion companies are using existing high-speed manufacturing to produce up-to-date designs to ease customer demand for low-cost goods.
