In the movie we can see the landscapes that make us lingering in dreams and hearts, we can peek into the lives of others, and we can touch things that we cant touch for a lifetime. “A One and a Two”; is like a mirror. You can see your own shadow, your past, present and future. The film mainly tells the story of the lives of the Jian Nanjun family until their mother-in-law died, and premiered in France in 2000. The whole movie starts with a wedding and ends with a funeral. The mother-in-law was still dead, and what Yang Yang said to her mother-in-law finally made the family understand why Yang Yang was unwilling to speak to the unconscious mother-in-law.
