Abortion is morally wrong

Abortion has been originated from the word abort, that means to halt, to stop, and to terminate. Motherhood is one of the greatest blessings indeed, and it is a dream of almost every woman to be a mother, but the situation does not remain the same, and many of the women often go to abortion and end their pregnancy. In this topic of discussion, abortion and its causes will be discussed that why the women think of abortion and why it should be stopped?

We usually hear a statement regarding abortion that it is morally wrong; there is a solid strategy and reasoning behind it. When a woman conceives, it is considered biologically that she is having a life inside her, and the fetus becomes viable after a few weeks of conception. During the period when the fetus is not viable, it is difficult to abort, and when it becomes alive, it refers a life, a complete life. If the pros and cons are analyzed, it is unethical and against the human values to end the life of any human. Whenever the abortion is done, it means a life is taken, and all those who are involved in it are responsible for the heinous act. Abortion is considered as unethical in many of the regions of the world, and at some places, it is considered as a normal act to stop the unwanted and undesired pregnancy (Pojman, 2007). It should be considered that if kids are the problem, and if couples do not want to get pregnant, they need to take precautions earlier, rather thinking of it later and ask for an abortion.

The doctors also have a different point of view regarding the problems related to abortion, and on average, they do not recommend it at any age. At the start, the fetus is not viable, and the life of the fetus is dependent on the mother’s life, so, at early abortion, the life of the mother is at risk. There are certain objections to legalizing the abortion, and some of them are as follows. The fetus of many months, even the child of many years at least up to five depending on others for care and the survival. The mother is responsible for taking care, and if the fetus is detached or if the child is not given care, it means that his survival has gone at risk. In most of the cases where care is not given, and essentials of life are not provided, the death occurs.

The second reservation is about the level of care and memories of human beings with the fetus. Humans are the social animals, and they are the creatures that get attached more than any other creature. The tenure of nine months of pregnancy brings the mother closer to her child, and she shares a lot of memories. In the case of abortion, she does not have only to kill the fetus, but she has to murder all the feelings, emotions, care, and attachment with the child. It is difficult for her to forget and continue her life as normal as before. It also varies in some cases as women undergo an abortion because of their own will, and they do not bother even after the abortion and feel free after getting rid of it. The theories of theologians and the medical field are different regarding abortion.

Abortion has been considered as illegal and bad because it involves the human sentiments, and the adults’ couples usually have the first experience of becoming parents. To be parents is one of the exciting events, and it is very difficult to give up to their child. It has been observed that many of the couples do not go together for a long on the debate of continuing pregnancy or not? In such cases, one of the partners wants to have the kid, and the other just considered as a non-living and non-viable thing and called it as the fetus (Pojman, 2007). The people consider the baby as a hurdle in the future and career, so they want the mother to go for abortion. On the other hand, some girls pretend that they are not ready to take the responsibility of a baby and get rid of it via abortion.

These were the several distinctions that do not allow the people to abort, or even they intend to; these are the thoughts that make them worried, and sometimes they decide not to go for this option. On the other hand, there is another school of thought that does not consider it harmful or any heinous act, but the followers believe that if the couple is not ready or if the financial or social set up is not allowing the growth of the fetus, it should be abolished. The fetus can be made alive or cannot be; it is all up to the choice of upcoming parents. One concept says that a fetus is a living organism, and it has to grow up to a baby. A woman starts to have a feeling of warmth and love of fetus as soon as she conceives, but the other school of thought says that a fetus is not a living thing. It is just like a dead, non-living thing, and it can never be against humanity to abort.

Humanity requires to take care of the living organisms and the emotions, but the fetus does not have any emotions or feelings. It should be remembered that the mother has the feelings and emotions related to the fetus; she does not consider it as a non-living thing. Most of the times, the mothers both from the east and west do not like abortion and never recommend it to others because they know that it is a heinous crime to take away a life. Sometimes, the life of a mother is also at risk if the abortion is done either at the early stage or later stage. Moreover, the mother’s emotions are also killed along with the death of a fetus that is not considered as a proper alive entity.

There is a huge debate going on whether the fetus is considered as living or non-living? A lot of experts are of the view as the fetus does not have color and physical appearance, and even it does not seem to move from one place to another, so it is not considered as alive. If it is not alive and if the characteristics of living organisms are absent from it, there should be no fear to attempt the abortion. There are many reasons due to which the couples want to have an abortion and cannot do it because of social norms, but according to this concept, they can easily do it. On the other hand, this concept is badly rejected, and it is said if the color and physical appearance matter this much, the medical technologies have made a lot of advancements, and it can be seen through ultrasounds, and even the scans of a fetus are usually provided to couples. Moreover, it is said that if the fetus is a non-living organism, then why the mother has to take extra calories and why the fetus is being provided to the fetus. If the fetus is a non-living entity, there is no need of oxygen as well.

Moving on, it has been said that, and even it is has been proven by scientific research that the fetus got genetic makeup by the mother as soon as she conceives. This genetic makeup decides the physical and genetic characteristics of the fetus; it decides what will be the physical appearance and how all the functions will be performed? The genetic code is not a characteristic of non-living things, and it refers to that the fetus is living, and abortion means that you are killing a life, and it is one of the heinous acts.

Abortion has been avoided and has been discouraged in all the communities and all the religions. No matter, if it is about Muslim Community or Christians, Chinese religion, or any other, all of the religions and communities are of the view that pregnancy is a blessing, and being a mother is even bigger. It is to be owned by the couples, and it should be raised to a grown-up baby. The social and financial issues are the part of life, and these go on till death, it does not mean that we kill a life or recommend abortion.

Many reasons lead the couples to think about the abortion, but keep in mind that it is a cruel and heinous act. It is just like to play with the emotions and feelings of the mother. The issues should be resolved, and parents should decide before conceiving whether they need this child or not? If they are not ready, there are many ways to stop fertilization, but once they have decided to have a baby, they should stick to it and should never give up. The abortion is morally and ethically wrong, and it cannot be justified in any way or by any theory, so it should be avoided (Pojman, 2007).
