Abstract
Boeing 737Max an aircraft developed as a subsidiary of Boeing was launched in the year 2011. The plane began commercial activities in 2017 after initial deliveries within the same year. The plane was highly welcomed by some airline companies in different countries, such as Ethiopia and Indonesia. However, in less than two years of commercial operation, the plane caused multiple deaths in two fatal accidents. For instance, in the one year after beginning its business activities, the first accident was reported involving the flight, which occurred at Lion Air in Indonesia. The accident took place 13minutes after taking off, resulting in over 180 deaths. Also, in 2019 another crush of the Boeng737Max was reported in Ethiopia.
The accidents drew a lot of interest from the world, as they seek to determine the issues with the aircraft resulting in the accidents. The paper, therefore, is focused on establishing possible causes of the accidents in this type of planes. The work examines a range of issues that people felt they were the reasons behind the fatal crash in the two countries. To determine this, the paper analysis malfunctions of the plane system, the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System, the management of the aircraft, as well as ethical issues related to the plane.
