An Aerospace Engineer should oversee the different designs of an aircraft and inspect damaged or malfunctioned parts as well as analyze each aircraft to determine if it is feasible.

What made you get interested in working for us?

This is a common interview question that employers should ask. The question is meant to make employers know if the candidate is aware of the company’s products, operations, and goals. When asked in the engineering field, it is intended to test if the candidate is aware of the critical processes of the particular company.

How is an Aerospace Engineer important to any given society?

The question is meant to test if the candidate is aware of the demands that come with Aerospace Engineering. Answers should depict a candidate as a person motivated by good pay should make the employer know that the candidate is not suitable for the position.

• The candidate should give instances where decisions made by an Aerospace Engineer affected a lot of people
• The answers given should also depict a person who is good at giving back to the community

Apart from having the necessary academic qualifications for the job, I was interested in the position as a way to help humanity overcome the many limitations of boundaries and huge landmarks like mountains.

Give an example of a home project that you have worked before that is relevant to this position?

This question will tell an employer if the candidate is involved in any side projects apart from working as an Aerospace Engineer. The answer given will make the employer know if the candidate has a genuine interest in the position or is only applying for them to get good pay.

Last year I was able to help a group of high school students to set up a radio station using locally made materials. The project was a success, and the radio station was able to cover a diameter of up to one kilometer.

Which coding language are you familiar with?

The position requires advanced computer knowledge; thus, an employer should ask this question to know the skills a candidate has. The answer given should depict a thorough understanding of the candidate in various programming languages.

• Does the candidate have the latest programming languages
• Are they aware of programming languages that were used before
• Can they be able to fuse different programming languages for best results

I currently use Python programming, which is the latest trend in the market. Also, I’m well versed in JavaScript and HTML programming.

What is the main objective of Aerodynamics?

This is one of the technical questions that make an employer know if the candidate has hands-on knowledge in the field of an aerospace engineer. The response should give the meaning of Aerodynamics and the purpose they serve.

• The candidate must indicate the meaning of Aerodynamics
• They should be able to explain the critical Aerodynamics
• They should elaborate the how they will ensure the objectives of aerodynamics can be achieved

Aerodynamics are necessary for an Aerospace Engineer to know the forces, moments and heat transfers that occur from the bodies that move through a liquid

Give the difference between Inviscid and Viscous flow

This is a technical question that will make an employer know how knowledgeable a candidate is in the field. If the candidate tells the main difference between the two terms, they are good to go. If they strain to elaborate the difference, then it shows they do not qualify for the position

• What is a viscous flow
• What is the main difference between the two and how are they applied in Aerospace Engineering

Viscous flow is where molecules move randomly and will transfer their mass, momentum, and energy to another point in fluid form. On the other hand, an inviscid flow is where there is no movement of molecules, and there is no thermal conduction.
