The use of alcohol among college students has been an issue for quite some time. Using drugs of students is something that does not only affect their personal lives but also their social and academic life. When students become addicted to the use of alcohol, it is likely to impact their studies. The first thing is that they slowly started missing their classes. The other thing is that the students once they start missing their classes, they will end up dropping in their grades. The other thing is that the school administration may suspend because of missing classes or drastically dropping in their grades. The first thing with the drinking of alcohol is that one does not think in their right state. Alcohol controls them in a way that they can engage in illegal activities. Too much alcohol will result in students dropping out of school. Once they become an addict, they will not think of anything else but how they will get drunk. In this case, the students will not think of their studies anymore. It is one of the things that will make them drop drastically. The other is the schools play a significant role in this issue. The students get to meet other students who engage in alcohol use, and they get to influence (O’Malley & Johnston, 2002). They end up joining the company.
One example is a student who joined the first year as a sober student. He did not know anything to do with alcohol. After joining the school, he lived in one of the hostels with three roommates. It happened that they went every weekend to party. They invited him, and slowly they introduced him to introduce. And that is how he slowly started drinking. After a while, he became an addict who would not go a day without drinking. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page

Addicted students need to be helped in one way or the other. They need to show that there is life after that, and they need to do something with their lives. It is the reason why we came up with a community activity where we help alcoholic students. In this part, the activities involve bringing together addicted students, and we get to talk to them and engaging in activities that will make them busy. The program requires that the students register themselves, and report daily after their classes. We will follow their progress as they keep on reporting. In the activities, they are required to interact with other students who were addicts but have transformed. The students are also needed to help in communal work once in a while to help make them busy. The thing is that they get to engage in leisure activities and get to watch some of the clips of drug addicts who have transformed. It is an interactive session where they get to share ideas, and as a result, they will learn a few things from each other.
The students will gain several things from these activities. The first thing is that they will learn that living a sober life is better than a drunkard life. They will also learn the impacts of using alcohol. They will get to learn how alcohol destroys their lives and causes health issues. The students will benefit from the activities as they will share with other students that have transformed. They will end up quitting the act, which will help them concentrate on their studies. The students will learn to live a positive life free from drugs (Karam, Kypri & Salamoun, 2007). They will also engage in giving back to the community by participating in different community services programs.
