Weaknesses

Opportunities

Business acquisitions

One of the opportunities that is available for AllerClean concerns the ability to reach out to residential clientele. At the moment, AllerClean only offers pest control services to organizations and business. However, the residential customers market remains unexplored and tends to offer the company an opportunity to offer pest control services to individual clients. This is prone to increase the company’s market share and revenues in the long run (Singh et al., 2018).

Additionally, the other opportunity for AllerClean entails the expansion into the field of fumigation and control of wood destroying organisms. These are services that the company does not offer at present and presents a large market that it can enter and increase its market share and revenues.

Lastly, business acquisitions also offer opportunities for AllerClean to expand and increase its market share. By acquiring other business in the pest control industry, AllerClean is prone to not only increase its revenues but also acquire skilled and trained workers, as well as clients.

 

Threats

Amongst the notable threats that the company faces include the risk of the failure of mergers and acquisitions. As from 2012, the failure rate of mergers and acquisitions in the pest control industry has stood at 21.54%. As such the failure of the mergers and acquisitions that AllerClean is involved in might result in the loss of funds, loss of business and the eventual shutting down of the company (Shabanova et al., 2015).

The other notable threat faced by AllerClean regards the seasonal nature of its business. The demand for the pest control services tends to be seasonal, and is always driven by increments in the pest activities, which are known to increase during summer and spring when bugs seek warmth and moisture. As such, extreme weather conditions result in the reduction in the pest populations and lack of business for companies in pest control business.
