Analysis of Heroic Characters

Introduction

When growing up, many children often admire superhero traits, and some will go ahead to imitate their idols in playful moments. Parents believe that exposing children to the right comical characters will influence their development into young men and women. However, when humans reach certain ages, stages at which they can differentiate good from evil, they can identify new sets of heroes that are real and impact their societies directly. Such legends could be officers, military personnel, healthcare providers, and individuals that engage in unusual activities to make the world better for everyone. Superman remains to be one of the most admired superheroes today. In this case, the assignment will compare this character with another legend, primarily focusing on the similarities between the two. Although not all heroes have supernatural capabilities, such guardians could be regular people who, like comic champions, take exceptional actions to create value for others.

The Chosen Legend

Veterans are essential members of every community, precisely due to the critical roles they play in matters concerning national security. In the United States, Chris Kyle remains to be one most influential members of the Navy SEAL that conquered terrorists from the Middle East. In November 2004, Kyle was part of the Navy SEALs that invaded Iraq to engage in the second wave in the battle of Fallujah (Cohler 71). It was during that period that this veteran got his primary role, which was to use the McMillan TAC-338 rifle for the protection of other navy troop members. Studies indicate that he was the most preferred person for that role due to his excellent shooting skills. The troops believed he was not just a fierce military figure, but also a leader who excelled in training and problem-solving. He was a situational leader, who, for example, recognized that the troops were not clearing their settlement effectively, which led to the deaths of many soldiers (Wedlock 3). To prevent fatalities during the process, Kyle provides a recommendation to implement an alternative method, which works effectively for all. Wedlock asserts that he was self-confident, selfless, and committed to the safety of other marines (3). Studies focusing on this marine demonstrate that he was excellent, precisely displaying many aspects that would characterize an effective leader.

In summary, Chris Kyle stood out among the troop members because of his courage and ability to save his colleagues. Although he died accidentally in 2013, his name will remain in the mouths of many who remember the remarkable deeds that describe him. He was a family man, a brother to many, and a legend that excelled in commendable military service.

The Comparison of Superman and Chris Kyle

Like superman does in the comic Superman: Birthright, Chris Kyle standouts among military personnel because he protects his colleagues and loved ones. Both are extraordinary characters that defy all odds to ensure the safety of other people around them. For example, during his arrival in West Africa, Clark Kent’s first encounter with Kobe Asura was remarkable because the former saves the latter from gunmen (Wadd 17). One finds that there was an assassination plot, which targets Kobe, but Clark averts the mission by deflecting the hail of bullets from the target. Chris Kyle, on the other, does not deflect bullets to save his colleagues in Iraq; however, his actions were similar to those taken by Kent in West Africa. By using his rifle, he displaces many terrorists and averts the dangers posed to the unsuspecting military personnel (Burling 88). The two individuals are outstanding in their mission to ensure the safety of those around them. Kyle was an excellent shooter, as described above, and his skills neutralize threats that are hardly visible through the naked eye. In summary, Kent and Kyle are influential in both scenarios because their presence impacts the outcomes of events, in a way, which frustrates the efforts of the enemies.

Clark Kent and Chris Kyle are heroes who put their lives in danger for the sake of safeguarding the interests of those that matter. In other words, this assertion implies that the two characters risk by putting their bodies on edge, something that many would hardly do. It is a selfless attribute that demonstrates the uniqueness of their nature, which makes them stand out amid other people in similar settings. For example, one can see Kent in a scene where Turaaba clan militia attack in a plot to destroy the political leader of the Ghuri people. Kent, in this case, surprises many, including Kobe’s sister, primarily when he uses his body as a shield to protect the targets (Wadd 26). The act caught the militia by surprise, leading to one of the rebels claiming that Kent had a protective vest. Similarly, Burling recognizes that Kyle occasionally puts his life in danger, mainly because he survives six attacks (88). It is fascinating that he had endured three bullet wounds, helicopter crashes, and surgeries to fix serious injuries sustained from the battlefield. Generally, the critical resemblance between the two individuals is evident through the self-denying attributes that enhance the protection of the lives of others. Thus, this selfless feature in both cases demonstrates the heroic aspect that would identify these two legends.

Moreover, the likeness of Kent and Kyle is noticeable through their distinctive capabilities. These legends outshine others because of their capacities, which are more of inborn gifts that lack in other people. For instance, Clark Kent has supernatural powers, which are visible in scenarios where he deflects the bullets aiming at Kobe and his family. Also, he takes metal projectiles on his back without any harming him, an act, which startles the perpetrators. Kyle, on the other hand, displays his strange features through his excellent shooting skills. Cohler acknowledges that American Navy SEAL members considered Kyle the fiercest fighter in that battle for Fallujah (71). He is the deadliest veteran in that war, which earns him several awards and recognitions by the Federal government. He is the most lethal sniper in the history of the United States, a title, which would not come easily, were it not for the inborn attribute (Cohler 72). To his fellow marines, Kyle is the legend that makes a massive difference in the battlefield. Gillingham adds that “The soldier-hero takes different forms in each war, developing off of the formulas used in the previous one, thus becoming a narrative focus for filmmakers” (4). This example implies that the uniqueness and achievements of Kyle influence media attention, which results in the making of films celebrating his life. Just like superman in the virtual world, Kyle is a living legend whose heroic actions affect people in a real-world setting.

Lastly, the superman and Chris Kyle are distinct in terms of the sources of their different capabilities. This assertion implies that the two characters are dissimilar regarding the elements that make them superb compared to other people in comparable settings. Superman, for example, derives his powers from the sun, a gift bestowed to him by his parents on planet Krypton at the beginning of the comic (Wadd 9). Kyle, on the other hand, developed his skills through training sessions. Wedlock claims that the other troop members recognize Kyle’s excellent leadership and training skills, which make him a legend in combat (3). Therefore, the origin of their powers and capabilities is a significant distinctive feature, which would be used to tell the difference between the two. Nonetheless, regardless of this difference, Kent and Kyle utilize their powers efficiently to create value for the people around them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Kent and Kyle are two unique individuals with outstanding capabilities. Although they live in a separate environment, each of the legends benefits other people by averting different forms of dangers that come along. The two parties have distinctive characteristics; however, all the elements that identify them are enough to justify their heroic titles. Nonetheless, the noticeable contrast between them is the source of their power. Superman has an innate gift, while Kyle’s capabilities are achieved through proper training. Nonetheless, it is clear that regardless of their unique attributes, both are alike in that they are brilliant in serving others.
