Analyzing logos in Bernie Sanders article

Bernie Sanders uses logic in his speech as he explains that education should be available for everyone regardless of his or her station or status. It should not only be free for the poor or less fortunate in society but practically everyone. The idea, as brought out by Bernie, is very logical as he further explains that this would be the best way to combat economic and political challenges that the country faces (Sanders, 2015). He states that to attain full prosperity, then full participation would be necessary.

Furthermore, he supports his reasoning with the fact that it has become harder for Americans to afford a decent lifestyle with one breadwinner in the family as it used to be in the 1960s. Today, families, where the couples have graduated with degrees, are seen struggling to make ends meet for them. He uses logos to explain that the country is on a tragic state as there are more student debts that there are auto-loan debts or credit card debts (Sanders, 2015). He explains that the growth and prosperity of the country depend on the young generation, and this may not be achieved as a majority of them a burdened with student loans with a good number of bright minds going untapped due to lack of access to affordable education.

To conclude, Bernie Sanders implores the United States of America to build on the progressive movement of the past where tuition was negligible for colleges and universities. He uses logic by pointing out examples of European countries such as Germany and Sweden, which offer free education to both nationals and international students (Sanders, 2015). He further explains that these governments are aware of the fact that by making education accessible to all, then it is a considerable investment made for the future.
