Andy Warhol influenced pop art

Andy Warhol influenced pop art since he used his art as a means of individual expression as well as a channel through which he demonstrated his critics of society. Also, Warhol impacted pop art because he tried out with pictures during the course of his arty career apart from the use of silkscreen pictures, which was his main channel. Besides, Warhol used jittery, clear, decorated interpretations of popular objects and Hollywood stars, which changed the world of art in significant ways. Equally, Warhol contributed to pop art through the use of his experience in commercial art to create fine art. The visual elements of pop art include the use of familiar imagery where images and icons from known media and products were utilized (Sichel 90). The commercial objects used include road signs, newspapers, pictures of celebrities, and soup cans. The use of commercial items was essential in pop art because it had a strong effect on the contemporary life of the people. Also, pop art used brand names as well as logos. Similarly, visual elements include the use of bright colors. For instance, most pop arts used main colors such as yellow blue and red, which were used to refer to popular culture.

My favorite Andy Warhol quote is, ” When people are ready to, they change. They never do it before then, and sometimes they die before they get around to it. You can’t make them change if they don’t want to, just like when they do want to, you can’t stop them.” Moreover, “Sometimes people let the same problem make them miserable for years when they could just say, so what. That is one of my favorite things to say. So what.” is among my favorite Andy Warhol’s quotes. Andy Warhol’s lifestyle affected his work in significant ways. For instance, when his father noticed that he had artistic talent, he paid for his college education, which influenced his painting career in a vast manner. Also, when Warhol was sick at the age of six, his mother gave him the first art lesson which motived his love for art, and he continued to draw during his free time even after gaining his health.

Andy Warhol, as a celebrity, stated a studio that was prominent and was known as the factory where he hosted spendthrift parties, and he used it to create most of his artwork. Warhol’s factory, which created after being a celeb was considered as the center for drugs, art, sex, and rock n’ roll in New York City. Besides, he used the factory to engage with other celebrities where he got a chance to paint some of them. Also, after being a celebrity, Warhol changed from drawing commercial items to painting portraits of rich and famous individuals. For instance, he painted portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, Elvis Presley, and many others (Reyes 1291). Besides, after Warhol became a celebrity, an attempt of murder was made on his life. Warhol was shot and almost killed by a radical feminist called Valerie Solanas, who was annoyed by how Warhol portrayed women as sex objects who ought to be produced and peddled.
