Subject: Apology for handing in my assignment late
Hello Professor,
I hope this email finds you well. I will start by sending my apologies for handing in my assignment late. This action was never intentional. I take my studies very seriously, and this mistake has led to a drop in my grades. Throughout the semester, I have made an effort to ensure that I score very highly in this class. I have maintained an A grade all through until the circumstance that led to the late hand-in of my assignment. In previous assignments, I have made sure that I handed my work in at the right time because I have always been a very organized individual. Please believe me when I say that this is the first and last time that this will happen.
The reason for my late assignment is because I was involved in a particular project which took up more time than I had previously presumed would be enough for it. I am a volunteer at the Zhu Xiaodong Foundation, and I hold a critical role in the group as an organizer of group activities. Zhu Xiaodong Foundation is a self-help group that caters for neglected children’s welfare. Its main aim is to foster an understanding of China’s growth and at the same time, give back to society, focusing on the most neglected and vulnerable group of people. I enrolled in this foundation because I was passionate about helping others who were less fortunate in the society.
On the day of the assignment submission, I had been put in charge of organizing various activities for the kids, and it took longer than I thought. Even though not making enough time to finish my assignment was my fault, I could not desert my role in the program because it would have affected all the activities of the day and made the who event a complete failure. Please allow me to hand in my assignment one more time so that I can be able to save my grades and redeem my status as a hard-working student. I hope you will put my request into consideration.
Yours Sincerely,
