Self-evaluation is the first step in self-awareness and personal development. As a student, I understand very well my strengths and weakness to the advantage of the available opportunities as well as minimize the risks of threats. For instance, my ability to grasps fast the concept helps me to navigate easily from subject to the other. I am not very good when it comes to handling topics that I feel I have not prepared adequately. Thus, for me to get an excellent overall performance, I have to revise thoroughly for every paper.
The first paper I tackled was quite sturdy. I spent a lot of time reading and re-reading to understand the concept before I could start answering the questions. From the instructor’s feedback, my performance on the essay showed that I had little knowledge of what the professor expected of me. However, from my assessment is that my creativity and understanding of the subject was good although, I needed to tweak a few things on the essay (Treinies)
In as much as the second paper was tough when I was starting, I managed to handle it well successfully. The feedback from the professor stated that I should improve points clarification, the citation as well as the close following of the ABGW textbook (Treinies). As a lesson learned the instructor recommendations, I hope to incorporate all these things in my subsequent essays to ensure peak performance. Even though the second paper was sturdy when I was beginning, I was able to give the right information compared to the first one
In the third paper, I did exemplary well because I had watched the film ‘Frozen’ many times beforehand. Although I need to improve on this paper, my skills continue to get better by day. Upon assessment of the quality of my week by professor Treinies, I realized I could have made it better by giving a catchy introduction. I also needed to avoid spoilers on my essay to make it more appealing and convincing to the reader (Treinies).
My creativity skill and the ability to give rich content remain my biggest strength in writing. I am working hard to streamline the use of the right vocabulary, perfect transitioning from a paragraph or point to the other, and improve my introductory clauses. I know once I achieve this, my writing skills will be close to perfection, if not perfect. Currently, I think my performance has grown from average to above average. I have improved a great deal going by last semester’s performance.
In conclusion, I feel very proud of myself in the accomplishment that I have managed to gain within the semester. My creativity skill has become even better, and mastery of content even more productive. I look forward to improving the areas that I am struggling with, particularly the citation and building a great introductory paragraph.
