The Arabs stand out due to the nature of their culture and lineage, which composes of diverse ethnic races and ancestry. World Bank statistics show an approximate population of 414.5 million Arabs across the globe in the year 2017 and are majorly located in North Africa and the Middle East. There are exceptions to Iran and Turkey because of their language Farsi or Turkish, respectively.
Religion
The Arabs individuals are renowned for the Muslim faith at 93% of worshippers, with only 4% as Christians who found in Africa and the Middle East. The Muslims believe in the Quran and god through Prophet Muhammad because Angel Gabriel disclosed him to the believers. The Quran is the base of all Islamic laws, which plays a significant role in the formulation of the Sharia laws in the constitution in Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia. The term Sharia refers to ‘the way’ which provides direction to the Arabic morality. The Sharia Law has five categories which require adherence for maintenance of the law. For instance, the prevention of oppression and hardship facing society and individuals while at the same time upholding morality, both private and public resources. Additionally, they heavily consider education and the establishment of justice at all costs.
Factors to Consider before a Visit
The Muslims have unique characteristics associated with prayers five times a day and the removal of shoes before entering worship places. The females dress in modest attire while wrapping their heads. The religion upholds holy months, such as the Islamic Holy month. A visiting individual to the Arab countries is expected to maintain a high level of loyalty while adhering to family roles. The males are the heads of a family and provide as stated in the Quran; the women offer support to the partner. The caregivers pamper the elderly and children and encouraged to utilize education at every cost. Homes’ designs have privacy with a difference for visitors from the family members. Additionally, their hospitality has got rules, especially to the female gender association, to the male visitors such as no greeting or relation unless the host does an introduction.
Rejection of food offered in the Arab culture is arrogance, and one has to eat with the right hand and leave soon after. Food is significant with a variety of diet except for pork. The Arabs uphold modesty in appropriate clothing, especially the female with a hijab, burqa, and a veil together with a robe covering their bodies.
