He perfected sfutamo, which is a painting technique referring to “vanished or evaporated” (Visual-arts-cork.com, 2019). The method used softening colors, and he added dark glazes on the edges (Rotgans, 2015). Leonardo combined partly discolored paint in the layers of painting, which include white, yellow, red, blue, and dark pigments, to contrast shadow and light.
