Assessment 1

Interview and History

Mr. C is a 34 years old male who made an application to join the Chicago police department for entry-level for the position of a police officer. He revealed a background of significant conflicts among his parents, which he disclosed in the interview. When his academic background was reviewed, it showed he was once placed in academic probation because of engaging in a fight. During the interview, he denied any engagement of any misconduct at school. After graduating from high school, he was enlisted in the military and deployed to Afghanistan. He was discharged on duty after he assaulted his superior in the army. Background investigations indicate that he got another job in a construction company and got married. He worked there for four years without any termination or any conflicts with fellow workers.

Required Personality Test

Personality assessment was conducted through MBTI. A combination of four dichotomies from sixteen combinations was undertaken—analysis of the dichotomies aided in understanding Mr. C’s personality. The four assessed dichotomies include feeling, thinking, extraversion, introversion, judging, sensing, and perception. The test found that Mr. C was relatively free from psychopathy. He also ut scored high in measures of impulsivity, defensiveness, and rule-questioning attitudes. The scales were conducted to address psychometric concerns related to MMPI-2 clinical levels.

Other Testing Methods

A further test was performed to determine Mr. C’s extraversion. The test was meant to show the sociability of the person. The person was found to be less introverted and enjoys working and focusing on more extended periods of time. Thematic Apperception Test was undertaken to provide insights into the person’s social world, fears, interests, goals, and hopes.

Recommending certification

I have examined Mr. C, and it is my professional opinion that this person is psychologically capable of exercising appropriate judgment and retrains to be certified as a police officer. According to the assessment, Mr. C has been found with no psychological or psychopathic traits. With is his military history, he can withstand high emotional and physical stress. He can engage in sound judgment and decision making.

Assessment 2

Ms. D is a 25-year-old single female intending to join the police department for the entry-level position. The study of her background showed significant conflicts with her family members, specifically her two brothers. She denied the claims in the interview. Her background also indicates that she has been in several schools. This has resulted from her drug addictive behaviors and conflict issues with her classmates. She also denied drug abuse and related behavioral problems;  she presented defensive comments and discretion in the interview.

Required Personality Test

Personality assessment was conducted where subjective ratings were predictive of future complaints. The person was more rule questioning and impulsive. Moreover, tendencies towards alcohol misuse, as well as idiosyncratic thoughts, were recorded. The person had problems dealing with citizens, as indicated in psychological assessment. The test was undertaken through the psychopathy quiz. Emotional IQ tests indicated that the person was emotionally disturbed.

Other Testing Methods

Another conducted test includes a paranoid personality test. In order to determine other behavioral issues, the narcissistic personality inventory test was undertaken to measure narcissism personality and traits disorder. These assessments indicate the person scored very high in both tests.

Communicating reservations

I have examined MS. D, and it is my professional opinion that the person is psychologically at risk for exercising appropriate judgment and restraint to be certified as a police officer.

Ms. D was found with behavioral issues and a narcissist not able to interact with people well. She is an alcoholic, and she cannot engage in sound judgment. In her condition, she is not able to withstand physical and emotional stress.
