Atlanta Journal-Constitution

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, it has significantly portrayed how physicians and other healthcare providers treat the patients without elements of assault. The ethical responsibilities professionals, such as colleagues, employers, medical boards, among others, have been displayed on the New York state report card. From the board composition, a blueprint was primarily grounded by the Federation of State Medical Boards, which found the significance of having a self-governing public member on physician-dominated medical regulatory supports. The AJC focused on giving consumer presentation on the board that represented to help the physician to identify their colleagues. The medical board has a strict and comprehensive responsibility for licensing medical doctors, investigating complaints, and penalize doctors who violate the medical practices. The physicians who commit acts that are away from medical principles and ethics are referred by the medical boards for evaluation and rehabilitation when appropriate. The public needs to be protected from incompetence, unprofessional, and improperly trained doctors, the aspects that are monitored by the medical boards. As per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, they found that the medical boards responded somewhat to gross medical misconduct that was common with the physicians. The boards strived to ensure that competent physicians are licensed to practice medicine with the provision of high-quality care to patients.

As per the category of Duty-to-report laws, which involved osteopathic physicians and medical doctors, the New York colleges or institution played a critical role in identifying potential physician’s misconduct and notifying the regulators of probable violations. To outdo the cold abusive acts by doctors that guard them, states such as New York have stable laws that require all doctors and healthcare sectors to inform regulators of potential violations. The colleges and health institutions are required to notify regulators of alleged doctor’s misconduct, with clear penalties for failing to report such. The doctors are reprimanded for reporting their fellow practitioners for misconduct, and courts or law enforcement agencies must alert regulators when a physician is criminally condemned.

From such responsibilities that are grounded by the state report card in New York to all professionals in healthcare, they abide by ethical principles tacked in class. For a medical practice to be termed as moral must abide by four critical principles. The principle of autonomy is required to be among the patient’s thoughts, intentions, and actions when making healthcare decisions and procedures. The patient decision-making should be free of coercion for fully informed decisions through understanding the risk and benefits associated. The principle of justice is also essential for a practice to be ethical with the idea that burdens and importance of virgin or experimental treatments are distributed equally among all groups in a social set-up. The other principles encompass beneficence and non-maleficence. Beneficence demands procedure be offered with the determined aspect of doing well for the patients, while non-maleficence requires that a method does not cause any harm to the patient involved or others in society.

Conclusion

In summation, cases of healthcare-related assaults have become rampant over a few decades that are realized by physicians. As such, it has led to stable creations of grounds that give procedures and guidelines for reporting premises for assaulted patients for appropriate actions to be taken. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution gave out a responding rate that incorporated five categories on various aspects of a health-related sexual abuse that are high lightened in the state report card. The report card for every state confined the scores it received and evaluated how well it shielded patients against sexually abusive physicians.

The health professionals that encompass colleagues, medical boards, and other workers are at the primary level to understand and be aware of the sexual assault. The law gives guidelines to such groups on the way to act when they observe any form of aggression against patients for an action to be effected. It is essential to understand the patient’s resources, such as the places to report and how they can learn about sexual abuse.
