Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth was born on February 6th 1895 in Baltimore, Maryland and died on August 16th 1948. He was raised in a poor background in Baltimore where his parents owned a tavern. Due to continued indiscipline cases, his parents took him to St. Mary’s industrial school for boys which was a catholic orphanage and reformatory. While in this school monk Matthias along with other monks they introduced him to baseball and Ruth excelled in the game. He became a strong hitter and pitcher. Due to his pitching power caught the attention of Jack Dunn, the owner of the Baltimore Orioles one of the minor baseball league by then.

At the age of 19 years, he was signed in the club, and since the law stated that Ruth should have a legal guardian in his baseball contract, Dunn became Ruth’s legal guardian. The other teammates started calling him “Dunn’s new babe” and later this joke stuck and he earned the name Babe Ruth. In his life, Ruth played for many leagues and he ended up breaking most of the important baseball slugging records which included highest slugging percentage for a season, most of the years leading league in a home run, most total base in a season among others. From these great achievements, he became a famous baseball player. He was also among the first five players inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1936. Ruth spent most of his life in New York. One of his favourite things that he said is, “every strike brings me closer to the next home run.”

Fidel Castro was born in august 13th 1926, near Biran in Cuba Eastern Orient Province. He died on November 25th, 2016. Castro attended his school and graduated in 1945 and joined law school at the University of Havana. He became immersed in the climate of Cuban nationalism, and he focused his energy on politics. Fidel Castro forces began a campaign of guerrilla warfare ad this led to the overthrow of the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista. He implemented communist domestic policies. He became an excellent dictator, and he brutally persecuted or even imprisoned anyone who was thought to be an enemy of his regime. He was the leader of Cuba until 2008 when he handed over his powers to his brother Raul Castro.

After taking over the leadership of Cuba, he turned the nation into a communist country. He reformed policies and nationalized factories and plantations in an attempt to bring to an end the U.S economic dominance on the island. The American companies felt the adverse effects of the communism measures, and there was a significant strain in relations between Cuba and the United States. During his regime, he implemented policies that ended democracy in the nation. He even ended democracy election, and he became a dictator. These are some of the things that made him famous in the world. Castrol spent most of his life at Havana in Cuba.

Fidel formed an army to bring down the sitting president who was a dictator. From his dreams, he aimed at having a better Cuba. However, when Castro ascended to the position he turned out to be one of the dictators who are still remembered by the Cuban citizens and the world in large. He ended the U.S hegemony over Cuba. Also, he was able to build an equal society where the citizens of Cuba had access to the best education and health services in Latin America.  While many nations were against communism, Fidel promoted it in his country. As a result, he ended up isolating his country from the rest of the world, which is not the expectations of the citizens since, in any way you need help from other nations.

The fact behind this controversy is that he was trying to make his citizens more independence but applied dictatorship. Also, Fidel aimed at promoting social justice and bringing equality in wealth distraction around the region. However, his supporters touted his health, welfare commitment and education to the poor. He also ruled with an iron fist by executing much of his political opponents while he aimed at promoting justice in the region. His tyrannical military was a threat to freedom in the western world. One of the things that he said that relates to his controversy is, “I don’t see a contradiction between the idea that sustain me and the ideas of that symbol, of that extraordinary figure, Jesus Christ.” My opinion the saying is true since if you can build up an idea to sustain your mission, then you don’t need to rely on other people’s ideas. By doing this, you build self-trust and confidence.

In conclusion, Fidel was a controversial person mostly seen in his political mission and what he delivered. He had great stands in his contradictory beliefs. The people behind him who could be of great help in his journal ended up messing him up by tutoring his plans to help the citizens of Cuba. However, his stands gained him popularity in the world, and he was involved in making many political decisions.
