Biomedical Ethics in the Christian Narrative

As it is known, the holy bible is composed of sixty-six books which were written in a millennium ago in various distinct languages as well as in other genres, nevertheless now exists a big picture or an extensive story commonly well known as the Christian biblical narrative (Grand Canyon University, 2015). The overarching story also can be referenced as the story of redemption, creation, fall, as well as the restoration of human creation, and all these constitute the fascinating story of Christianity.

Creation: In accordance with Christianity from the first biblical book, Genesis chapters one and two, there is a clear extensive elaboration of the Christian God being the creator of all things. It also states that nothing was created without him, which also includes the universe together with everything in it. It is also clear that everything created was intentional and that nothing happened by accident as everything exists on purpose. God created the world for the prosperity and flourishment of human beings in peace.

Fall: According to Genesis chapter three, the bible describes the fall of man where it is a major event man disobeyed God. The disobedience by Adam and Eve is was considered as an act of rebellion to God’s rule over them, which, as a result, led to breaking in shalom. As specified by the bible, the fall of man led to universal implications such as suffering, pain, physical and spiritual deaths, and more so, it led to the estrangement of humanity from God..

Redemption: This comes after the continuation of man struggle with sin after their fall from grace and God comes up with a plan to bridge the gap between him and humankind. The plan for redemption extends from the old to the new testament and climaxes with the death and the resurrection of Christ Jesus. The culmination of the Christian biblical account is through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ where people get salvation and forgiveness of sin through grace and faith alone.

Restoration: In this account as God has devised a way of redeeming mankind the main intention is to restore all the creation to a state of shalom. The second return of Jesus Christ will be the final judgment for humanity to initiate final restoration (Stetzer, E. Nov 2012).
