BULLIES ARE MADE, NOT BORN

Bullies are defined as people who hurt or intimidate others and often forcing them to do actions that they are not comfortable doing. Nature are attributes that one is born with and associated with overtime. Nurture, on the other hand, are behaviour that one accrues over with time. Bullying, to a greater extent, is nurture oriented rather than nature-oriented. Individuals who turn out into bullies over time have had actions that would have swayed them into bullying (Roland & Munthe, 2017). Some of the nurture based activities that would lead one into bullying include the following.

Physical punishment is one that makes people into bullies over time. Parents using force on their children ultimately lead to aggressive behaviours. Physical punishment in children is sometimes based on adult behaviour (Gomez-Ortiz et al., 2016). In cases where parents are extreme alcoholics and take it out on their children. Over time even after becoming adults, they will still have the aggressive behaviour. Physical punishment is thus proof in its way that bullies are made and not born.

Watching aggressive behaviour is another example of how bullies are nurtured rather than it being natural. Parents who tend to be more aggressive at times pass on the behaviour to their children. Children, in this case, will grow not trying to be virtuous and only see violence as the only way out in any given situation. The behaviour is thus cultured into one, which ultimately leads to one being a bully. Therefore, bullying is an action that is raised over time and eventually manifests into behaviour.

Watching violent films and television channels also play a large part in bullying. Nurturing children or individuals centred on extreme cinema to a greater extent will affect their behaviour patterns. Children perceive what they see as right. Reason for focusing on children is the fact that bullying is a continuous process that ultimately manifests over time. It would be better in any given case to ensure that violent films are reduced or done away with as it nurtures children into bullies. The small actions, such as kicking with time, grow into grosser activities such as beating..

Processing emotions is also another point that supports bullies are nurtured. Without giving children or even adults the chance to speak out their feelings, they find other ways of getting their emotions out. Most of the bullies lack the right processing of peoples characters. Bullies tend to think that people have wrong intentions, and thus they reiterate by being negative. Nurturing of individuals into being able to express themselves will lead them to understand various actions and being less aggressive.

Nature though, also has a part to play in bullying. This is exhibited in cases where people are born with psychiatric disorders. With mental disorders, people tend to be overly aggressive (Sourander et al., 2016). This is an inborn disorder that can only be rectified medically. This thus supports that in some instances, bullies are born out of nature rather than being nurtured.

In conclusion, bullying to a greater extent is nurtured over time. The little actions that children get to experience over time mould the behaviour that they are going to exhibit. It is thus advisable that society takes the responsibility of various activities to ensure that they do not transform children into bullies. Nature though, also plays a part in bullying. Some of the deficiency syndromes may lead one into being over-aggressive and ultimately without proper checkup lead to the moulding of bullying. Thus, in conclusion, bullies to a greater extent are nurtured and not a direct result and only in rare circumstances is bullying brought out of nature.
